Live Updates: Tennessee eyes series sweep over LSU on Sunday afternoon

Tennessee baseball seeks its first Southeastern Conference series sweep Sunday afternoon at Linsey Nelson Stadium as the Vols and LSU conclude the three-game set with the 3 o’clock eastern time first pitch.

UT (29-6, 9-5 SEC) took game one 6-3 and game two 3-1 behind superb pitching efforts from the Tennessee staff. The Tigers (22-14, 3-11 SEC) had control of game two being 5.1 no-hit innings from starting pitcher Luke Holman, but the Vols broke through in the frame with three hits – including the decisive two-run single by Dylan Dreiling.

Lefty Zander Sechrist (1-0, 3.38 ERA) will get the start for Tennessee and he’ll counter with fellow southpaw Nate Ackenhausen (2-4, 6.75 ERA). Looking to repeat success in their second game with Tennessee in the College World Series last summer, the Tigers are opting to start their closer in the series finale.

Tennessee has won seven-straight home games against LSU.
