Aidan Anding blown away by Hurricanes official visit:”It’s going to be hard to beat Miami”
Ruston (La.) 2025 cornerback Aidan Anding may not yet be ranked by two of the four major recruiting databases, but that hasn’t stopped Miami’s staff from marking the 5-foot-11, 165-pound defensive back as one of their top priorities this cycle.
Miami hosted Anding for his first summer official visit this weekend and set a high bar, he told CaneSport. Anding will also take official visits to Texas, TCU and Arkansas, who he said joined Miami in his top four, and has shown substantial interest in all four programs. He told CaneSport last week he felt all four schools were on about equal footing, but this trip may have changed that.
“It’s going to be hard to beat Miami,” he told CaneSport coming off the visit.
He shared his take on the weekend, saying “I thought this weekend went as planned, I knew we’d come down here and get more information about Miami. I knew I’d come out here and have a good time, which I expected. There is never a boring moment out here. The people, the staff, they all made me feel welcomed, everyone had high energy, the players were cool, all showed love to me. That was really big.”
Anding was hosted by Ray Ray Joseph, and he already was friendly with Jadais Richard and Ajay Allen, who are from his home area.
“It was really cool seeing them,” Anding said.
His highlight of the visit?
“Really everything,” Anding said.
He also mentioned a scavenger hunt and time on a boat as well as a party at coach Mario Cristobal’s house as standing out.
“Every moment I enjoyed, every last bit of it,” he said.
A final takeaway from Anding?
“Miami has always been my top school, one of my top three schools,” Anding said. “They have set a high standard for what I’m looking for, have everything I need.”
Anding said he may announce a decision by the end of the month.
CaneSport’s Take
Miami needed to make a serious impression on Anding’s first official visit, and it looks like the Hurricanes are in good shape. Texas, Arkansas and TCU have been pushing hard, and momentum will probably change a few times over the next month. But the Hurricanes couldn’t have done a much better job this weekend. “I know schools do everything they can to make everything a good moment, but coaches show their true heart,” Anding said. “To make a school stand out from Miami? I don’t really know.”
