Zion Grady leaves Miami official visit feeling the love: “They are very high right now”
Ahead of his official visit to Miami, the Hurricanes were among the top schools for coveted defender Troy (Ala.) Enterprise four-star EDGE Zion Grady, and after a weekend in Coral Gables, that remains the case.
Since Grady’s de-commitment from Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement, the Hurricanes have been heavily involved in his recruitment, with Miami defensive line coach Jason Taylor leading the push for the top-100 prospect.
During his visit, Grady had several extensive conversations with Taylor as well as a handful of Hurricane staff members. Grady, the No. 79 overall recruit and No. 11 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, says the trip went as well as he hoped.
“Everything stood out,” he said. “It was fun. Football-wise I’d already seen everything. The visit helped with me, it was a lot of fun.”
On the visit Grady was joined by two of his teammates at Enterprise — four-star safety Eric Winters and three-star cornerback Andrew Purcell who the Hurricanes are in hot pursuit of as well.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder said that “We are going to try to play with each other, it just depends on if it’s a fit for everybody.”
He says it’s “a good fit” with him and Miami.
Part of that fit: Potentially playing under Taylor.
“It would be very good to play for a Hall of Famer,” Grady said. “He knows what to do, what not to do.”
CaneSport’s take
Miami put its best foot forward with Grady, who said the weekend was “fun,” and that he did things he’d never done before including a boat trip with the other recruits. Grady has more visits upcoming to Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn and Ohio State. Miami has set the bar for now. “They are very high right now,” Grady said.
