Weekend Miami visit helps solidify Schott, who worked to land more talent: “Pretty confident some of them will wind up becoming Canes”
Leo (Ind.) four-star 2025 tight end Brock Schott made his return to Coral Gables this weekend for his official visit with the Miami Hurricanes, and after spending time with the Canes, the coveted pass catcher reaffirmed his commitment to Miami.
“It was super nice getting down here with the coaches, players and recruits,” Schott said. “I don’t have any other official visits planned.”
Of why he’s locked in with Miami, Schott said, “Every time I come down here I keep feeling better and better about it. It feels like the right place, right option for me right now.”
During his visit, Schott was joined by fellow Miami commit and tight end Luka Gilbert, whom he enjoyed talking with and getting to know better.
“It was really good getting around him, meeting him,” Schott said. “By the time we get down here things get running pretty fast. Getting to go out with him, spend time with him, it was really great to get a better relationship with himi this weekend.
The 6-foot-3.5, 215-pounder spent plenty of time with Hurricanes tight end coach Cody Woodiel as wellas head coach Mario Cristobal.
“Coach Woodiel, Cristobal, when I met with them they went over a lot, showing how they’d use me and Luka differently and stuff like that,” Schott said.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Schott is the No. 182 overall prospect in the 2025 class.
CaneSport’s take
Schott and Gilbert give Miami a stellar tight ends room, and the visit sounds like it went as well as Miami coaches could have hoped for. With other uncommitted prospects on campus, Schott was trying to work his magic with them to convince them to join him at Miami. “It was really cool getting to talk to those guys, try to push them toward the Canes. I am pretty confident some of them will wind up becoming Canes.”
