Spire Motorsports reveals new paint scheme for Connor Zilisch at Richmond

This week Connor Zilisch is making his second start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Spire Motorsports. The teenage phenom is ready to tackle the oval tracks on the circuit now.

With his 18th birthday finally coming to pass, Connor Zilisch has the ability to race on any track in NASCAR. Of course, he didn’t need to be 18 to race at Richmond. But his late-season schedule is starting in earnest now that he is.

This is a gorgeous Silver Hare Racing Chevy Silverado. Take a look at the paint scheme below.

Silver Hare Racing gave Connor Zilisch an opportunity in Trans Am. Now, he’s helping to return the favor by having them on his truck as a sponsor. Silver Hare does a lot of great work in the grassroots racing scene and have given many other drivers opportunities as well.

Despite his young age and experience level, I expect Zilisch to learn on the fly and slowly get better throughout the race. He may even end up with another top-5 result if he keeps his truck clean.

In his Craftsman Truck Series debut, Zilisch won the pole at COTA and finished P4 after a wild day on the track. Penalties and wrecks and pit stops, and still, Zilisch was in contention.

Connor Zilisch isn’t just a road course racer

While his background is in karting and Trans Am racing, in other words, road courses, Connor Zilisch is no slouch on the ovals. In fact, in the ARCA Menards Series, Zilisch has proven that he is very effective on ovals.

This season, Zilisch has a CARS Tour Late Model Stock win at Hickory Motor Speedway. In the ARCA Series East, Zilisch has four wins total, all on ovals. Three of those were also national series races, Dover, Iowa, and IRP.

Spire Motorsports has put together some great trucks this season. Zilisch will be teamed up with Rajah Caruth and Chase Purdy on the track. Richmond is a historic NASCAR venue and one that Zilisch will have to learn quickly if he hopes to compete.

Connor Zilisch is the real deal. As he starts to take on the short tracks and larger ovals on the NASCAR circuit, his talents will be tested. Richmond is the beginning of the rest of Zilisch’s career.
