RPM Rundown: Intel on 5 Miami predictions

RPM Rundown: Intel on 5 Miami predictions

Welcome to the RPM Rundown, an intel piece giving the latest on the five RPMs I’ve entered for Miami to land in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Today, we’ll be taking a look at predictions I’ve made for Miami to land four-star running back Byron Louis, four-star nickelback Amari Wallace, four-star defensive lineman Randy Adirika, four-star cornerback Chris Ewald Jr. and three-star linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin. I also entered an RPM for Miami to land four-star tight end Brock Schott earlier this year, but since he’s since committed to the Hurricanes and is still solid with The U, there’s no reason to circle back.

It’s also worth mentioning all five prospects I’ll be mentioning are all local recruits within an hour of Miami’s campus. All rankings used are from the On3 Industry Ranking.

4-star CB Chris Ewald — No. 162 overall prospect
– Prediction level: 65%
– Currently feeling: Good
+++ Ewald will visit Miami this weekend and Georgia next weekend before making a decision June 27, and I’m continuing to like the position the Hurricanes are in. There’s still a chance Georgia turns on the jets, knocks his official visit out of the park and steals one of South Florida’s top defensive backs from Miami’s backyard, but I think Miami will hold on here — especially if this weekend’s official visit to Coral Gables goes as planned.

4-star RB Byron Louis — No. 219 overall prospect
– Prediction level: 65%
– Currently feeling: OK
+++ This has basically turned into a Miami-Florida State recruiting battle with Ohio State out of the picture and Wisconsin on the outside looking in, and both Miami and Florida State think they have a good chance to land him. The Hurricanes made a move on his May 31 official visit, but FSU should continue their push during his June 21 visit. The Seminoles have been the trendy team for Louis over the last few months after turning up the heat this spring, but Miami is fighting hard and won’t let Louis leave South Florida without a fight. This is still a very tight race, and Louis isn’t tipping his hand toward either school. It’s likely Louis makes a decision later this summer.

4-star DB Amari Wallace — No. 240 overall prospect
– Prediction level: 75%
– Currently feeling: Pretty good
+++ Wallace will take his official visit to Miami this weekend and Louisville next weekend, but Miami still looks to be in the most favorable position. Penn State and Alabama are both in the picture as well and could receive in-season official visits, but right now, I still like Miami’s chances most. He plans to commit after his official visits but before the start of his senior year, and unless something unexpected disrupts things, I think he’ll be a Hurricane.

4-star DL Randy Adirika — No. 400 overall prospect
– Prediction level: 70%
– Currently feeling: Pretty good
+++ Adirika was one of my first RPMs this year, and while things briefly slowed around April, the two sides appear to be on the right track again. He was at USC last weekend, but Miami has the most connections to his school, has recruited him and his family for several years and has hosted him more than any other program. He originally planned to announce a decision before the start of summer, but with him still uncommitted during official visits, that date is obviously being pushed back. If Miami nails his official visit, which I think they should, I’ll expect him to be a Cane by the end of the summer.

3-star LB Ezekiel Marcelin — No. 451 overall prospect
– Prediction level: 70%
– Currently feeling: Pretty good
+++ Marcelin is the third member of the Miami Central trio I RPM’d to Miami in the 2025 class along with Wallace and Adirika, although things feel a bit more clear with his Miami official visit already behind him. I loved the position Miami was in after his May 31 visit, and as long as the Hurricanes offer him an opportunity to compete as a freshman, he I still think he’ll commit to the Canes before the start of his senior year.
