Heath Shuler on Tennessee Quarterback Joe Milton

“It’s harder for Joe just because of the amount of media attention and social media and things like that. I mean sports is really kind of elevated, so everyone’s focused. Even though I think it’s more, I think Joe is the type of quarterback and understanding the most important thing he can do is to kind of block all the noise out and really kind of focus on the task at hand. Really look at what the future can lead not only for him but the Tennessee team and have a chance to play for that championship game. The best way to do that is to have that single minded focus and really kind of hone in on one team at a time, one game at a time and prepare for Virginia the best way you possibly can.”

Jerome Carvin on Ollie Lane potentially starting at center for Tennessee

“I would say just for Ollie, he just needs to calm down. Don’t let the emotions get too big, you know? He’s been around the program for a long time. So, he understands how games go and how the operation works. So, I think going into year three will under Heupel, he understands the offense fully. So, he’s very confident. Especially at center, setting IDs and things like that and setting the tone, setting the tempo of the offense, I think he’ll do very well. Other than that, man, you go out there. Things might go wrong, never know, then next-play type mentality. Like coach Elarbee has harped on a lot is, don’t be too high on the highs and don’t be too low on the lows. Keep steady. Mentality and composure and confidence – he’ll be fine.”
