Ric Flair shouts out Dawn Staley, South Carolina amid women’s national championship game
Ric Flair made it known who he was rooting for in Sunday afternoon’s national championship between South Carolina and Connecticut. Flair posted on X during the game in support of the Gamecocks, who are in search of their second straight title and fourth overall under Dawn Staley.
“Go GAMECOCKS And The Great @dawnstaley!” Flair wrote. “WOOOOO!”
Flair, a former WWE wrestler, previously had a feud with SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum a couple of years back over the Michigan football team. He is on the SEC’s side for this game, however, cheering on South Carolina.
The Gamecocks have a lot of ground to make up, though, as they currently trail 50-35 with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter. They’ll need to get some stops if they hope to force their way back in this down the stretch.
