4-star WR O’Mari Johnson commits to North Carolina

Wesson (Miss.) Jackson Academy four-star wide receiver O’Mari Johnson has committed to North Carolina, he announced on Sunday via Instagram.

He chose the Tar Heels while also holding offers from Ole Miss, LSU, Florida State, Tennessee, South Carolina and others.

Johnson is the No. 265 overall prospect and No. 43 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder returned to Chapel Hill for his official visit this weekend and is now in the boat for new head coach Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels.

UNC now has 10 commits in its 2026 recruiting class. Johnson is the second-highest commit in the mix, behind just four-star defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin, who flipped from Texas A&M last month.
