Preview: Notre Dame to host three big targets for midweek official visit

Preview: Notre Dame to host three big targets for midweek official visit

June is a busy month for Notre Dame football recruiting with something going on just about every day. Over the weekend, the staff hosted 13 prospects for an official visit weekend and has a camp going on Monday that features a handful of intriguing prospects.

And for Tuesday, June 11? Marcus Freeman and Co. welcome three prospects to campus who will be in town for an official visit. Below is what Fighting Irish fans need to know regarding where things stand with each prospect.

Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor safety JaDon Blair

The Skinny: Notre Dame is considered the team to beat for Blair according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) after Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for the four-star prospect to end up picking the Fighting Irish. Don’t be surprised if the word following his midweek trip to South Bend is that Blair is heavily trending towards the Irish, which would be great, but immediately following his ND visit, he’s headed to Ann Arbor for an official visit with Michigan.

Blair, who ranks as the No. 154 overall recruit and No. 15 safety nationally per the On3 Industry Ranking, took spring official visits to Louisville and Virginia Tech. He officially visited South Carolina the first weekend of June and heads to Florida State and Penn State later this month.

The feeling is that he’ll ultimately pick between Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State.

“What makes me keep going back is the relationship I have with those coaches,” Blair said about Notre Dame to On3 at the end of May. “And that’s one of those schools that is a great place, and I love it a lot. Building the relationship with those coaches and the players there, the like-minded people. That’s something I would love to be around, and that’s why I keep going back because I want to be 100 percent sure just like the other schools.”

Fishers (Ind.) High WR JonAnthony Hall

The Skinny: On May 31, the 6-1, 170-pounder announced that he earned an offer from Notre Dame receivers coach Mike Brown, and with that, he set up his official visit date. Hall seems to be very excited about the Fighting Irish’s pursuit of him, and it would come as little surprise to see Hall ending up in Notre Dame’s 2025 class. Hall told Blue & Gold that he also has official visits set up with Stanford June 7, Purdue June 14 and Indiana June 21. Michigan is also in the mix for the four-star prospect.

“It’s exciting because it’s coming from a team of high caliber that’s also close to home,” Hall recently said about Notre Dame. “What also excites me as well is I know they just added the former LSU offensive coordinator [Mike Denbrock] to their staff, so I know they will throw the ball pretty well.”

La Verne (Calif.) Bonita WR Dylan Robinson

The Skinny: Notre Dame added Robinson to its receiver board April 29, and he scheduled his official visit date with the Irish shortly thereafter. It’ll be Robinson’s first time in South Bend. He’s taken officials to Utah and Washington already and finishes the month with a trip to UCLA. We don’t know as much else about Robinson’s recruitment — especially with regards to Notre Dame — considering how recently he joined the Irish’s board. But Notre Dame needs another receiver or two in this class, and the staff would be happy to add Robinson. We’ll get a better feel on his recruiting process after his trip this week.

According to MaxPreps, Robinson caught 22 passes for 514 yards (23.4 yards per catch) and 6 touchdowns in 10 games as a junior. On Friday, he verified his speed on the track by clocking a 10.9-second mark in the 100-meter dash.
