Oregon’s Three Toughest Road Games

Oregon’s Three Toughest Road Games

Well we’re a ways out still but I figured no better way to pass the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ than to get ready for the Fall.

Oregon has a challenging but winnable schedule. There are tough games on the road and at home.

For the most part, signees have gotten to their respective campuses. The transfer portal, while still active, has definitely slowed way down at the power five level.

It feels like we are at a spot where we have a better idea where things stand. So here are my three toughest road games for the Ducks as things stand today.

Here is a link to the 2023-2024 Oregon football schedule.

3. Texas Tech (Sept. 9)

This one is tough for many reasons. The first one being, Texas Tech is a very good football team. They will be relatively balanced and pretty disciplined. This is no picnic of an early game for the Ducks in Lubbock. But Duck fans will get an immediate look at where this team stands. Did Oregon fix its defensive problems? How does a Will Stein offense look? A lot of questions the board will be talking about early in the football season.

2. Utah (Oct. 28)

Utah is never easy. We know Kyle Whittingham will have his team fired up to host the Ducks. And if all goes well, Oregon should be in the top ten for this one. The Utes would love to play spoil to the victor. I do happen to think Utah takes a small step back this year. I’m probably in the minority here but that’s my feeling. Yet even if they do, they will be tough and have the comforts of home when they play Oregon.

1. Washington (Oct. 14)

There was no other game to put here than this one. And don’t get me wrong, I thought about it for a second with Utah being a really tough No. 2. But this is hate week. This will be an absolutely hostile crowd feeding off last year’s big win. I’m sure Dan Lanning hates the thought of starting his Oregon career 0-2 against the Huskies.

And to boot, this has the potential to be a top ten matchup at a key point in the season.
