Myles Graham locked in with Florida — and feeling good about the Gators’ chances with some elite targets

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA — Myles Graham, the 4-star Florida Gators linebacker commit, recently said he wouldn’t visit any other programs. But Friday night, the touted recruit and key member of the 2024 Florida recruiting class, went a step further when he Tweeted out a graphic that read, “My recruitment is officially shut down.”

“I kind of already did (shut it down) when I said I’m not taking any more officials,” Graham said. “I just wanted to make it official. I’m here at Friday Night Lights. I’m enjoying it. I’m having a great time. I just wanted to make it official.”

Meanwhile, Graham said Friday he is focused on adding to the Gators’ class, which has 16 commitments and the No. 3 ranking.

“I’m pushing for Tank (receiver Jerrae Hawkins), Chance (Robinson), and .. Tank commits July 1,” Graham said. “Hopefully, he commits. Um, LJ McCray, Zay Mincey.”

Who is his No. 1 target?

“LJ McCray,” Graham said. “I feel good. He did a top five (today) but I think he’ll commit soon and I think we’ll land him.”

McCray is a 4-star defenive lineman from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland. He released a top five Friday of Florida, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Miami. McCray is the No. 13 defensive lineman and No. 89 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The Gators lead for him in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a projection of 32.6 percent. FSU is next at 20.5 percent.

Graham, whose father (Earnest Graham) was a star Gators running back two decades ago, pledged to Billy Napier’s program last August.

Myles Graham is a top-100 recruit

Today, he’s the No. 4 linebacker and No. 53 overall recruit in the country.

“Being the first commit in the 2024 class is kind of surreal to me,” Graham said. “It’s like what I imagined for the class. It’s really special for me because I wanted it to end up like this. Now that it is, it’s like another dream come true.”

He’s particularly excited about Florida’s defensive class thus far.

“Defense wins championships, so it’s everything,” Graham said. “That means a lot for us.”
