Link Jarrett updates availability of starting pitcher Jamie Arnold ahead of College World Series
Florida State ace pitcher Jamie Arnold will be available to start for the Seminoles on Friday against No. 1 national seed Tennessee in their first matchup at the College World Series, head coach Link Jarrett said on Wednesday.
The news came after Arnold felt good during his bullpen. Arnold had taken the mound most recently for Florida State on June 8, getting the start for Game 2 of the Tallahassee Super Regional against UConn.

Arnold, statistically, has been the best pitcher for the Seminoles in 2024, with a 2.77 ERA and an 11-3 record. He also leads the Seminoles in innings pitched by a comfortable margin, throwing 100.2 this year. The next closest pitcher on the roster has thrown 69.1.
Facing a Tennessee offense that’s Top 10 in the nation in runs per game, Jarrett and Co. will surely hope that Arnold can be at his best, and give Florida State a leg up to get to 1-0 and the drivers seat in Omaha.
