4-star Edge Zion Grady has Auburn high on his list, will return for Big Cat Weekend
AUBURN – Zion Grady, a 4-star edge from Troy (Ala.) Enterprise, officially visited Auburn from Monday to Wednesday. The visit went well, he says.
“It went pretty well, I had fun,” he said. “Last night we went bowling, got to watch practice and stuff like that.”
Grady is the No. 79 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 11 edge, and the No. 6 player in the state of Alabama according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Good connection with coaches
Grady spent time with several different coaches on staff.
“Coach Durkin, Coach Aldridge, really everybody,” Grady said. “They are very high intensity guys, they have straightforward attitudes.”
Auburn is recruiting Grady at mostly edge, but also considering him as a potential end.
“Right now I think it’s both,” he said.
What stands out about those coaches?
“I feel like the way I connect with the coaching staff and how comfortable I am with them,” Grady said.
Grady is also close with Hugh Freeze and had a few conversations with him.
“It’s a very good relationship,” he said. “He hits me up all the time.”
What is next?
Grady plans to make his decision in July, potentially eyeing the fourth. The Tigers are heavily in the mix to land him.
“They’re very high on the list,” Grady said. “They’re up there.”
What other schools are on that level with Auburn?
“Florida State, Miami, and Tennessee,” he said.
What is the most important thing in his future school choice?
“To make sure all the boxes are checked,” he said.
Grady attended Big Cat Weekend a year ago and he will be back again.
“Yeah, I should be there again for Big Cat,” Grady said.
