Georgia hoops adds BYU transfer forward Kanon Catchings

Mike White has reached into the transfer portal for a second time since the 2024-2025 season ended. This time he’s beefing up the Georgia front court with BYU forward Kanon Catchings.

As a freshman last season, Catchings averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He shot 35 percent from three and made just 59 percent of his free throw opportunities. The 6-foot-9 sophomore is originally from Brownsburg, Ind.

As a prospect in the 2024 class. Catchings was the nation’s No. 103 overall player per the On3 Industry rnaking, a weighted average that includes all four website that publish rankings. He was the No. 16 small forward and carried a four-star rating.
