Georgia helped itself with 2026 4-star DL James Morrow this spring
Buford (Ga.) 2026 four-star defensive lineman James Morrow continues to see Georgia become more and more of a factor in his recruitment.
The No. 261 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings has Auburn at the top of his recruitment early on according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Georgia has cut into that this spring.
Morrow made the short trip over to Athens for a visit this spring. Georgia made an impression on this latest go around with the in-state four-star.
“Georgia helped themselves very majorly in my recruiting,” Morrow told DawgsHQ.
He watched the Bulldogs go through spring practices. Morrow had the chance to spend time with his primary recruiter, Chidera Uzo-Diribe during the visit.
He also spent time with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. Smart and Uzo-Diribe both had candid and productive conversations with Morrow.
“The talks I had with Coach Diribe and Coach Smart were good,” Morrow said. “They were straight up with me on how college football works. They told me if I came there it would be a daily grind that would make me better but nothing was going to be handed out I would have to work for it.”
Morrow enjoyed watching Uzo-Diribe coach. His coaching style has always connected with Morrow. Watching it in person was a plus.
“Watching Coach Diribe coach up his guys is very motivating because he knows the ins and outs to everything his players ask him,” Morrow said.
Georgia checks a few major boxes for James Morrow
Morrow watched carefully throughout his day in Athens. The culture and the attention to detail was a major standout for Morrow.
“Some of the things that caught my attention were the attention to detail on every little thing they did,” Morrow said. “Also, the aggressiveness that was brought by every single one of their players was unmatched. I learned a lot about what makes them tick because they’re all family and they hold each other accountable for every little thing they do.”
‘Energy’ was a word that kept coming to mind throughout the visit for Morrow.
“The energy was unreal,” Morrow said. “From Coach Smart yelling in the microphone to guys yelling at each other and then to top it off loud music was playing to hype everybody up.”
