Georgia continues to ‘sell itself’ for 2025 RB Justin Baker

Georgia continues to ‘sell itself’ for 2025 RB Justin Baker

Buford (Ga.) 2025 running back Justin Baker has remained consistent in his thoughts of Georgia. Baker’s thoughts are a big reason the Bulldogs are a team inside the three-star running back’s top six.

“I’ve said it a lot, Georgia really sells itself,” Baker said. “If I were to make that decision and go there I know that if I were to go there, I’d be developed into the best player that I can be.”

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Michigan as the early favorite for Baker. The Bulldogs are the team that sits in the second slot.

Georgia has had Baker on campus three times in the process. Baker doesn’t need to see a lot from Georgia by being on campus.

He knows what he knows about Georgia. There is a solid balance in Athens between academics and on-the-field success.

“At Georgia, you really get the best of both worlds with academics and the physical side,” Baker said.

For Baker, the choice of Georgia is a choice of how much you are willing to put into being a great football player. Georgia’s culture is a challenging one.

“With Georgia, it’s a matter of if I’m willing to take that risk and go the extra mile and become the best player I can be,” Baker said.

Justin Baker ready to make a splash in junior season

Baker is in his first season as a full-time starter. He shared carries with Alabama freshman Justice Haynes last season.

Baker is in a time share with multiple talented backs at Buford but he feels 2023 is a big season for him individually.

“This year is a takeover year,” Baker said. “I had a lot of time to learn from Justice last year and watch what he did on and off the field. This year I feel like I can take my game to another level.”

Baker is sharing the backfield with Georgia five-star quarterback commit Dylan Raiola. The future Bulldog has been a plus to Baker.

Buford could see themselves throwing the football around more in 2023 but Baker is excited about the opportunity.

“Some may think Dylan coming may be detrimental for my growth, but I don’t think so,” Baker said. “When you’ve got a good quarterback that can throw the ball, you have fewer people in the box. There’s going to be a lot of open running lanes for me to be able to show what I can do with the ball in my hands.”
