Gators official visit starts for 4-star WR Joshua Moore

Gators wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales is a happy man this afternoon, as 4-star wide receiver Joshua Moore arrived on campus on Friday for his official visit.

Moore, an On3 top-100 prospect overall from Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward, is one of Florida’s top targets at the position. He hasn’t been in Gainesville in quite some time, but you know the red-carpet treatment will be on full display this weekend.

Florida’s Need: The Gators want to sign four wide receivers this cycle and already have one committed. Moore is a top target and boasts the prototypical size Gonzales covets from his receivers, so he’s very much wanted. Florida could also use more size at the position for the future.
Recruitment 411: Word is there not much separation among the top schools, although I would say the Gators definitely have ground to make up. They have the opportunity to set the bar though and might need just one visit to catapult into the drivers seat. At the same time though, three other schools will play host after Florida does, so how fresh will the Gators be in Moore’s mind?
Three things to like about Gass: Mismatch problem. Moore is typically too big for cornerbacks and too fast for linebackers. I also like his ability to high-point the ball. He takes full advantage of his frame and makes sure to extend out for the ball. That leads to his effectiveness as a red-zone option.
