Four-star WR Cooper Perry commits to Oregon

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Preparatory four-star receiver Cooper Perry announced his commitment to Oregon on Thursday, choosing to play for head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks over his other finalists in Arizona State, Oklahoma and Washington.

The 6-foot-0.5, 185-pound Perry becomes the fifth verbal for Lanning and company in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He was back in Eugene this past weekend.

“Everything about that program made it right,” Perry said. “They have been on me from the start, my first-ever visit and my last.”

In addition to feeling close with Lanning, Perry clicked with future position coach Junior Adams.

“Coach Lanning, Coach Adams are two coaches that will make me into the best player I can be,” Perry said.

New Oregon assistant coach Ra’Shaad Samples, who comes over from Arizona State also made Perry feel comfortable with his decision.

“Coach Samples is my guy,” Perry said. “Me and him have clicked from the start and I know me being around him will take my game to another level.”

Ducks’ whole staff made Perry feel at home

It was a group recruiting effort for the Ducks staff.

“Kamran Araghi is like family to me and he has been awesome throughout this process,” Perry said. “Oregon is home for me.”

Perry loves what the Oregon program stands for.

“The opportunity to compete for a National Championship every year and to work hard while doing it,” Perry said.

The On3 Industry Ranking tabs Perry as the No. 1 recruit in Arizona. As a junior he turned 72 receptions into 1,190 yards and 18 touchdowns after a sophomore campaign of 78 catches for 1,100 yards and 20 scores.

Perry’s official visit to Oregon is set for June 7. He joins a class that includes another ballyhooed receiver in Dallas Wilson, On300 quarterback Akili Smith Jr., On300 defensive lineman Matthew Johnson and offensive lineman Sandman Thompson.
