FAU combo guard Alijah Martin returns to home state, officially visits Ole Miss
After entering the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier this month with a “do not contact” tag, most speculated FAU combo guard Alijah Martin would follow his coach, Dusty May, to Michigan. But this may not be the case. On Thursday, OMSpirit confirmed the North Pike (Miss.) prospect is in Oxford, Miss., meeting with head coach Chris Beard and staff.
Martin played four seasons at Florida Atlantic and could use his final year of eligibility at Ole Miss in year two of the Beard Era. During his time with the Owls, he averaged 11.9 points per game, five rebounds, 1.4 assists, shot 44 percent from the floor and 37 percent from three-point range.
The Mississippi recruit is coming off an official visit to Florida last weekend. It was thought the Gators and Todd Golden had the upper hand. Now, Ole Miss has a chance to counter.

Alijah Martin was a key cog for FAU’s Final Four run a year ago.
In the national semifinal loss to San Diego State, Martin finished with 26 points and seven rebounds. Earlier in March of 2023, he dropped 30 on UAB in the Conference USA title game. In May’s system at FAU, he primarily played the three and averaged a little over six attempts per game from beyond the arc.
At 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Martin is a physical guard who can score in a variety of ways. He can shoot it from deep and is exceptional in off-ball motion sets. But he’s also an authority off the bounce at the rim. In high school, he was an all-state quarterback and it shows on the court. Martin threw for 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns while also running for 1,300 more yards and 13 more scores.
