Commitment Impact: Dakorien Moore Picks Oregon

2025 Duncanville (Tex.) wide receiver Dakorien Moore just committed to Oregon, adding to one of the best recruiting classes in the country. The Ducks were able to beat out the Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes and LSU Tigers for the 5-star plus pass catcher and one-time LSU commit.

Oregon’s class now stands at 15 verbal commitments.

A Historic Commitment

Dakorien Moore is now the highest-rated wide receiver to ever commit to Oregon, a title that had previously belonged to Cameron Colvin, a 5-star pass catcher from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle in the Class of 2004.

Oregon has continued to become more of a destination for elite wide receivers in recent years with players like Jurrion Dickey (5-star 2023), Jeremiah McClellan (4-star 2024) and Ryan Pellum (4-star 2024) all taking their talents to Eugene. Junior Adams and the Ducks also added Evan Stewart this offseason, the top wide receiver in the transfer portal.

That trend should continue as long as the program continues to produce NFL talent, with Denver Broncos rookie Troy Franklin being the latest star to come out of Eugene.

Texas Pipeline

Moore is the second commit for Oregon from the Lone Star State in the 2025 cycle, joining 5-star cornerback Dorian Brew who just committed last weekend. The Ducks are after a handful of other top players in the state including Galveston (Tex.) Ball safety Jonah Williams, San Antonio (Tex.) Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry III and Lewisville (Tex.) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

Texas has always been a major focus for the Ducks on the recruiting trail, with names like Will Stein, Ra’Shaad Samples, Drew Mehringer and Antonio Parks all playing key roles in the team’s recruiting efforts.

Finished at Receiver?

Following Moore’s addition on Thursday, Junior Adams now has four wide receivers committed in the 2025 cycle. Moore joins 5-star Tampa Bay (Fla.) Tech’s Dallas Wilson, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Preparatory star Cooper Perry and Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North pass catcher Isaiah Mozee.

The Ducks are likely finished at wide receiver, unless you want to consider Michael Terry a wideout. He can play just about any position on the field because of his versatility but he told ScoopDuck at the On3 Elite Series in May that Oregon was primarily recruiting him as a running back.

Junior Adams continues to prove that he’s not only one of the best recruiters on Oregon’s staff, but in the entire country.
