BBQ at The Big House Preview: Breaking down a massive recruiting weekend at Michigan
Michigan is set to welcome more than 60 recruits for its annual BBQ at The Big House event. Here is a closer look at all of them (On3 Industry Rankings in parenthesis).
2025 Targets
WR Jerome Myles, Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon (No. 58) — A former Ole Miss commit, Myles has exploded on the recruiting scene thanks to his elite combination of size (6-3, 215) and speed (10.36). Utah is considered the favorite, but Michigan is squarely in the mix and will have a chance to make a move this weekend. LSU, Penn State, Texas A&M and USC are also involved. Myles plans to take his recruitment into the fall.
WR Andrew Marsh, Katy (Texas) Jordan (No. 62) — Michigan has the heavy lead for Marsh on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 89.2 percent chance of landing him. I have an On3 Prediction in for Michigan to land Marsh and feel great about it going into this visit. Remember, Marsh already visited Michigan twice last month, including for his official visit for Victors Weekend. He planned to make a decision in November but is now looking at next month.
CB Jayden Sanders, Kilgore (Texas) High (No. 233) — An On300 prospect, Sanders was one of the biggest rankings risers in the latest update and has become the most realistic target on U-M’s corner board. Michigan has the lead for Sanders on the On3 Prediction Machine with a 93.8 percent chance of landing him. I have a pick in for the Wolverines and feel confident going into the visit. Sanders is set to make his decision at some point in the next couple of weeks.
2026 Targets
RB Savion Hiter, Woodberry Forest (Va.) High (No. 32) — A borderline five-star prospect, Hiter is at the very top of Michigan’s running back board for next cycle. New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford recruited Hiter during his time at Ohio State and got him on campus this spring. Michigan and Georgia appear to be high on his mind early.
RB Javian Osborne, Forney (Texas) High (No. 58) — Osborne is making his first-ever visit to Michigan this weekend and is looking forward to getting a closer look at the program. He has a strong relationship with area recruiter JB Brown, a fellow Texas native, and is building his bond with Alford. Texas is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
WR CJ Sadler, Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech (No. 100) — Sadler is the No. 1 in-state recruit in the 2026 class and one of Michigan’s biggest priorities for next cycle. An explosive athlete, Sadler projects as a slot but can be used as a dangerous Swiss Army Knife. Michigan has the early lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine but will have to fight off Alabama, LSU and others.
WR Tristen Keys, Hattiesburg (Miss) High (No. 104) — Michigan just put an offer on the table for Keys a few weeks ago and is already set to get him on campus. Ole Miss is considered the early favorite on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
WR Tyreek King, Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic (No. 129) — King is part of the same training program, NPA, that produced Michigan players like Junior Colson and Mason Curtis. King has been to Michigan in the past on a group visit, but this will be his first individual look at the program. Michigan and Louisville are the favorites on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
WR Travis Johnson, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith (No. 133) — Johnson notched an offer from Michigan this winter and has expressed plenty of interest in the program. This is his first visit, and he’s excited to spend more time with Bellamy. Johnson already has a friendship with quarterback pledge Brady Hart. Penn State is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
WR Mason James, Norman (Okla.) North (No. 190) — James earned an offer from Michigan in the spring and has already built up a great relationship with Bellamy. Oklahoma is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
WR Payton Cook, Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban (No. 234) — Cook visited Michigan last year for the game against Ohio State and is very willing to leave enemy territory. In fact, Michigan has the early lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 57.4 percent chance of landing him.
WR Jaylen Pile, Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal (No. 562) — A three-star prospect, Pile notched a Michigan offer early in the offseason and made his way to Ann Arbor for a visit. This will be his second time on campus, and it’s clear he has high interest early on. Oklahoma is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
TE Jack Janda, Detroit (Mich.) Catholic Central (No. 415) — Janda is the lone offered tight end target coming in for a visit this weekend. Michigan has the early lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 52.6 percent chance of landing him. If Michigan pushes, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the three-star prospect in the class.
OL Tyler Merrill, Mechanicsburg (Pa.) Cumberland Valley (No. 60) — Merrill is making a return visit to Michigan, and it’s clear the Wolverines are high on his list early on. Merrill has a strong relationship with offensive line coach Grant Newsome and loves the recent offensive line production. Penn State and Notre Dame are also high on his mind.
OL Leo Delaney, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day (No. 92) — Delaney is a former teammate of 2024 Michigan signees Jadyn Davis and Channing Goodwin. That connection should help out the Wolverines in this race. This will be Delaney’s first visit to U-M. South Carolina is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
OL Gregory Patrick, Portage (Mich.) Northern (No. 118) — Patrick has been to Michigan on multiple occasions in the past and is a top priority for the Wolverines next cycle. Patrick is a Michigan State legacy. However, the Wolverines landed two of those in the 2025 recruiting cycle. It wouldn’t be surprising to see U-M do it again with Patrick.
OL Zaden Krempin, Prosper (Texas) High (No. 161) — Krempin picked up a Michigan offer during the spring evaluation period and is quickly emerging as a top target for the Wolverines next cycle. This will be Krempin’s first trip to Ann Arbor. SMU is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
OL Marky Walbridge, Needham (Mass.) St. Sebastian’s (No. 279) — Walbridge visited Michigan last year and is already on campus for a multi-day visit that began on Thursday. Penn State and Michigan are considered the early leaders on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Newsome saw him during the spring evaluation period and is making him feel like a priority.
OL Cannon Pickett, Tampa (Fla.) Tech (No. 295) — Pickett is the cousin of former Michigan target DJ Pickett. While that one didn’t go well for the Wolverines, Michigan will try to make a move with Cannon this weekend. This will be his first visit. Florida is the early leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
OL Blake Graham, Los Angeles (Calif.) Leuzinger (NR) — Graham does not have a ranking, but he did pick up an early offer from Michigan, and it appears the staff is intrigued by the West Coast prospect. Michigan actually has the early lead for Graham on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
DL JJ Finch, Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central (No. 379) — Finch notched an offer from Michigan during the spring evaluation period and is an early priority for the Wolverines in the trenches. New defensive line coach Lou Esposito has already built a strong relationship here. However, Notre Dame is considered the team to beat.
EDGE Luke Wafle, Princeton (N.J.) Hun School (No. 176) — Wafle is the younger brother of Michigan defensive lineman Owen Wafle, who signed with the Wolverines last cycle. That tie should give the Wolverines the inside track in this recruitment. However, Penn State is the leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
EDGE Shaun Scott, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei (No. 198) — One of the best pass rushers nationally, Scott is set to make his first-ever visit to Michigan. U-M sent multiple coaches to Mater Dei this offseason, and it looks like they were able to move the needle with Scott. USC, Oklahoma, Texas and Ohio State are high on his mind as well.
LB Kaden Carter, Barnesville (Ga.) Lamar County (NR) — Michigan landed a sleeper linebacker recruit from Georgia this cycle in Chase Taylor. The Wolverines may be looking to do the same with Carter next cycle. While he isn’t ranked at this time, Michigan has an offer out to him and is interested.
DB Joey O’Brien, Glenside (Pa.) La Salle (No. 105) — Michigan missed out on a bigger safety recruit this cycle but is looking to make a power move with O’Brien this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder fits the description and has ascended as a top target. Notre Dame is the heavy leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
DB Andre Clarke, Richmond (Va.) Hermitage (No. 162) — Clarke visited Michigan last month and earned an offer after a strong camp performance. Now, he is set to make a return visit, which shows just how interested he is in the Wolverines. Michigan and Tennessee are at the top of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
DB Craig Tutt, Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland (No. 306) — Michigan has the early lead for Tutt on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 48.6 percent chance of landing him. Tutt just picked up an offer from U-M this summer. This will be his first visit.
DB Chaston Smith, Knoxville (Tenn.) McCallie (No. 357) — Smith has already been to Michigan on multiple occasions in the past and is now set to be back on campus for his first meeting with new secondary coach LaMar Morgan. Michigan and Ole Miss are at the top of the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
DB Jaziel Hart, Roanoke (Va.) North Cross (NR) — Hart is not ranked at this time, but Michigan recently dipped down into Virginia and extended an offer. Hart is excited to get his first look at the program and has high interest. Virginia Tech is the leader on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
ATH Jayden McGregory, Des Moines (Iowa) Valley (No. 153) — McGregory is listed as an athlete. However, the Wolverines are recruiting the 6-foot-2, 182-pounder as a defensive back. Michigan extended an offer last month and will now get him on campus for his first visit.

QB Carter Smith, Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot (No. 194) — Smith committed to Michigan in November over offers from Florida State, Penn State, Texas A&M and others.
QB Brady Hart, Cocoa (Fla.) High (No. 87) — Hart committed to Michigan in June over offers from Clemson, Penn State, Texas A&M and others. He is the only U-M commit in 2026.
RB Jasper Parker, New Orleans (La.) Archbishop Shaw (No. 344) — Parker committed to Michigan last month over fellow finalists Duke, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State.
WR Jacob Washington, New Orleans (La.) Archbishop Shaw (No. 278) — Washington committed to Michigan last month over fellow finalists Georgia Tech and Missouri.
WR Phillip Wright, Destrehan (La.) High (No. 420) — Wright committed to Michigan last month. However, he made a visit to LSU today. His status should be monitored.
