Highly-recruited 2026 guard Tori Oehrlein talks about 6 final schools
Highly-recruited 2026 prospect Tori Oehrlein of Crosby (Minnesota) Crosby-ironton Secondary recently narrowed her list to six finalists. The programs she’ll be considering for her landing spot are Utah, Michigan, Minnesota, Florida, Virginia Tech and Maryland.
“I’d say I have really good court IQ and vision,” Tori Oehrlein said of her game. “My passing is key. I want to work on getting my release quicker and getting more explosive.”
She’s taken unofficial visits to Minnesota, Maryland, Florida and Utah so far but plans to visit the other two programs prior to making her decision.
“My biggest thing is my relationship with the coaches,” Tori Oehrlein told On3. “I want to have a great relationship with them. Style of play is also important because I don’t want to go somewhere where I don’t fit their style.”
Tori Oehrlein broke down her six finalists with On3.
Florida
“I was there for a camp and I did the visit after. I really liked that. They have beautiful facilities and their coach, coach Kelly [Rae Finley] is awesome. They have different assistants now than when I was there for my visit, but I’ve been getting to know them on the phone and they seem really great.”
Maryland
“I really like coach Brenda [Frese]. She’s awesome – and Karen Blair. They’ve recruited me since my 8th grade year and they’ve really believed in me since I was younger. Their campus is beautiful. I like how Brenda Frese is super honest and open with me. What you see is what you get from her, which I really like.”
Michigan
“I haven’t been on a visit yet, but I really like coach Kim [Barnes Arico] and Justine [Raterman] who is now an assistant there from Marquette. I love her. She’s super nice and she’s recruited me since 7th grade so I’ve known her for a while and I’ve had a good relationship with her.”
Minnesota
“Coach Dawn [Plitzuweit] is amazing. She truly shows how much she cares about me and of course, Minnesota is close to home, so family can come see me which is nice.”
Utah
“Utah is great. The campus is beautiful and where it’s located in Salt Lake City is really beautiful. Their coach, coach [Lynne] Roberts is awesome and coach Jordan [Sullivan] out there is amazing as well. She talks to me all the time, which is awesome. I like the way they run their offense. They play fast and up-tempo, which is really nice.”
Virginia Tech
“That’s another school I haven’t visited, but coach [Megan] Duffy is there and I love coach Duffy. She’s recruited me since seventh grade, and I trust her. I feel like I have a great relationship with her. I’m starting to get to know her coaching staff and they’re awesome as well.”
