Three & Out: Summer camp offers, a closer look at the new offers, and recruiting potpourri
Three & Out is Nebraska On3’s feature in which recruiting analyst Bryan Munson gives his weekly takes on topical issues concerning Nebraska football and recruiting.
In this week’s Three & Out, a complete list of all the new offers following summer camps, a deeper look at those new offers, and recruiting potpourri. Here is your Three & Out:
New offers by Nebraska following summer camps
There has been some comprehensive coverage by Sean and Sip over the past week and a half, from a couple of satellite camps in Texas to several camps back in Lincoln. The Huskers have made 17 new offers to campers following their performance in front of the Nebraska staff. Here is a complete list of all of the known offers following recruits’ summer camp performances:

Going into summer camp this month for Nebraska, I was concerned that there wouldn’t be as many offers extended to seniors as there were a year ago. That feeling rang true, but the staff made close to 20 offers in the last 10 days or so. There are some easily identifiable categories into which to put the new offers.
A deeper look at the new offers
The new offers from summer camp have been pretty telling to me. There are some very interesting categories the new offers can be put into once you get past the International offers and the other offers made at the satellite camps to Texas recruits. Here is a quick breakdown of how I see the offers:
After a great camp, I am blessed to have received an offer from University of Nebraska! @CoachMattRhule @CoachEJbarthel @Coach_Satt @_CoachGThomas @evancooper2 @HuskerFootball @BuckFitz @NatlPlaymkrsAca @MaineSouthAth #GBR pic.twitter.com/E5hzPHBtxQ

Offers to QBs stand out:
If you take out the six new offers made to International players or recruits from Texas following the satellite camps that means that three of the remaining 11 offers went to quarterbacks. The truth is, I can’t remember a summer camp cycle when so many offers were made to signal callers. It says a lot about the quality of talent that was in Lincoln over the past week at the quarterback position and as a whole.
The early offers to freshman and sophomore quarterbacks are a sign of the times. Nebraska is playing catch-up with 2026 quarterback targets, but they are definitely trying to get ahead with the 2027 and 2028 quarterback targets. The summer camps in Lincoln this year gave the Huskers an excellent chance to do that.

Offers to border state recruits:
Again, taking out the International offers and recruits from Texas following the satellite camps, the other very clear category was the offers to recruit from border states. Coach Rhule wants to extend the state of Nebraska’s borders which would allow him to more easily cherry-pick Colorado, the Dakotas, Iowa, Kansas, and other neighboring states.
Seven offers were made to border state recruits. Unlike the offers following the satellite camps, which were only made to wide receivers and a defensive lineman, there was a very diverse range of positions from the border state recruits.
Maybe the one surprise from the list of offers is that no players from Nebraska picked up an offer. It will be interesting to see if Omaha (Neb.) Millard South wide receiver Amarion Jackson gets an offer in the coming weeks. Jackson left Lincoln without getting an offer on the heels of getting offers from Kansas State, Iowa, and Iowa State.
Recruiting potpourri
Several things have happened the last couple of days and like another recruiting notebook here is a recruiting potpourri section for this week’s Three & Out:
*** The news on Tuesday was that Springfield (Neb.) Platteview High School tight end Reiman Zebert is down to two schools, Nebraska was no longer in consideration, and later that evening he committed to Stanford. From the very beginning, Nebraska was on the outside with Zebert. The early word was that Wisconsin was very high on Zebert’s list, and of course, the offers continued to roll in.
I don’t think Nebraska even thought their chances were great with Zebert. Take into consideration the commitment from Bear Tenney earlier this spring. A year after taking three tight ends and having two in-state targets, which Nebraska offers, and the Huskers take Tenney? This wasn’t the first sign for me that Nebraska wouldn’t get all of the in-state targets they offered this year. It was just the best.
*** I caught up with former Notre Dame commitment Shaun Terry. Terry recently decommitted from The Irish on June 1. Nebraska offered Terry immediately following his decommitment announcement. Nebraska seemed to be on the outside looking in, trying to get an official visit from Terry. He had a visit set to Missouri, another planned to Michigan, and was also considering a visit to West Virginia, Clemson, and Nebraska. On Tuesday, Terry reported to me that since the offer from Nebraska, he hasn’t heard much from the Huskers. He isn’t planning on taking an official visit to Nebraska any longer.

*** Nebraska offered Auburn CB commitment, four-star recruit Donovan Starr on Tuesday. Starr has good size and speed (6-foot-0/175 and 10.56/100m and 4.3/40). He told me he hadn’t heard from Nebraska leading up to the offer and wasn’t sure yet if he was interested enough to take a visit.
*** Noah King, a three-star athlete Nebraska is recruiting as a safety, got back to me on Tuesday night. He has been working on getting an official visit set up to Nebraska. He’s researched the roster of Nebraska, the current class, and even official visitors. King has been talking with defensive coordinator Tony White about an official visit, and the weekend of June 21 has been mentioned. He has been told that all official visits require Matt Rhule’s approval. King says that the visit will happen, but it’s just not officially set.
*** There is at least one other recruit who falls into a similar category. LaRue Zamorano, a cornerback from Los Angeles (Calif.) Centennial has official visits for every weekend in June already. If Nebraska can get him to visit, he must cancel another trip or schedule a mid-week visit. The good news is that he is open to taking a mid-week trip to Nebraska and is genuinely interested in taking a closer look at what the Huskers have to offer. He wants to visit Lincoln. We are still waiting to see if it happens.
#AGTG Blessed to receive an OFFER to the University of Nebraska!! @_CoachGThomas @Adam_DiMichele @CoachMattRhule @Cocoa_Schneider @CocoaFootball pic.twitter.com/mdycYTXqOL
— Brady Hart (@BradyHartQB) June 10, 2024
*** The Huskers offered another 2026 quarterback on Monday. Brady Hart, from Indialantic (Flor.) Cocoa picked up an offer from co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas. Similar to the other recent offers, there has been little to no communication between Nebraska and the recruit before the offer. Hart and I only caught up briefly, but he said that he likes the offense Nebraska runs. Hart threw for 3,759 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions as a sophomore.
*** I got some intel from camp on Saturday morning that it looked like Ike Ackerman from Omaha (Neb.) Central could have gotten an offer from Nebraska following camp. I caught up with Ackerman after camp and he said he had a chat with Nebraska defensive line coach Terrance Knighton. Nebraska liked what they saw from Ackerman during camp. Ackerman was told he’s a “late bloomer” and Nebraska is very excited to see how things play out with him.
*** Mekhi Nelson got back to me on Tuesday morning. The prep school running back took at trip to Lincoln for an unofficial visit on Saturday and camped on Sunday. Nelson said that he had a day of tours on Saturday and then had a chance to workout for the Nebraska staff. This feels like Nebraska keeping an option open Nelson now that they have both Conor Booth and Jamarion Parker in the boat. Matt Rhule and Nebraska got burned a year ago with Kewan Lacy and it doesn’t feel like the Huskers want to find themselves in a similar situation down the road with the 2025 class.
*** Not a recruiting note but a positive note that I wanted to pass along. I was in Lincoln this weekend for a camp on Saturday afternoon with my youngest son. While I could move between Memorial Stadium and Hawks, I ran into Grant Brix. I haven’t seen Brix since San Antonio in January. Brix has added some significant size to his frame. I caught up with him for a few minutes and took a picture of him and my son. He said in January, he weighed 280 pounds and is now up to 310 pounds. He’s filled out nicely in a very short period of being in Lincoln.
