4-star playmakers Kromah, Loftin rave about Florida State officials

4-star playmakers Kromah, Loftin rave about Florida State officials

Florida State hosted its biggest official visit weekend of the year so far, and four-star running back Ousmane Kromah was one of the biggest names on campus.

The top-100 prospect has been trending to Florida State for much of the recruiting process. However, Georgia has been surging as of late, and other schools have worked into the mix. This weekend was the Seminoles’ chance to get back in front, and they may have done just that.

“It was wonderful. They hit everything. I’m not gonna lie, they did their thing. They did their thing,” Kromah said. “They treated me like family, real life. Everybody was making sure I was taken care of at all times. It was a great experience, great time. They took care of my family, made sure everybody was straight. They really did their big one.”

The 6-foot, 215-pound recruit said he didn’t come back to Tallahassee with any questions; he more so just wanted to sit back and observe to see if Florida State could be his future home.

“They got me out of my comfort zone,” Kromah said. “I’m a quiet person. When I come around, my face is usually straight. I don’t come out smiling, dancing, or playing around. When I’m like that, it means I’m comfortable, I feel at home. And when I get that, why would I not want to come somewhere that gives me that vibe all the time?”

Kromah will now take official visits to Florida and Georgia, then he plans to make a decision in the fall.

TE Chase Loftin impressed by Florida State

Four-star tight end Chase Loftin was also on Florida State’s campus for his official visit this weekend, and this is another recruitment where head coach Mike Norvell has been very hands on.

“I love the whole coaching staff, especially Coach Norvell,” Loftin said. “He’s been a big part of my recruitment, so I really appreciate that. The weather is not too bad over here, which is important to me, I guess. There are tons of good things about Florida State, including their winning record. …

“He (Norvell) stays in contact with me every week. He continues to check up on me, which is a big deal to me, making sure that the head coach is involved in my recruitment. He does a great job.”

Being from Nebraska, Florida State is a long way from home for Loftin. However, that does not seem to be a factor for him due to seeing his brother, Brayden Loftin, play at Kansas State.

“Well, my brother is a tight end at Kansas State, and he’s pretty close. I’ve noticed with him that in college football, it’s a busy schedule, and he rarely ever gets to come home even though he’s nearby,” Chase Loftin said. “I try not to make distance a big factor, knowing I’m not going to be able to visit much anyway. I need to find a place that feels like family when I’m there.”

That family feel is exactly what the Seminoles showed him while on campus this weekend.

“It’s one of those places where I walk in and feel at home,” Loftin said. “I mean, obviously, the glitter and stuff, the food and stuff, all that has been amazing. But continuing to build those relationships is what’s important.”

Loftin will now visit Texas A&M and Nebraska before making his decision later in June.
