The Scoop: LSU has close ties to a Top 150 target
The LSU football staff landed On3 RPM picks for a handful of targets on the defensive line following a successful official visit weekend.
On Thursday, the Tigers will host the first LSU Elite Camp of the summer, and one of the staff’s top targets on the defensive line for the 2026 cycle will be in attendance.
After hosting the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class in 5-star defensive lineman Jakheem Stewart for Sunday’s LSU OL/DL Camp in Baton Rouge, the Tigers are bringing Georgia 4-star Deuce Geralds to campus for camp on Thursday.
Geralds is the No. 11 defensive lineman and No. 107 overall prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2026 cycle, and college offers are in from more than 40 programs.
For LSU, there are ties to Geralds that could pay dividends for the Tigers.
The Scoop: Frank Wilson’s connection bodes well for LSU
LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson has been one of the most notable college recruiters in the modern recruiting era, and his resume includes a stint on the Ole Miss coaching staff.
During his time in Oxford, Wilson used his Bayou State roots to sign plenty of notable Louisiana natives.
That included Scotlandville defensive lineman Daverin Geralds, who was part of a 2006 Louisiana class that saw former Tigers like defensive tackle Al Woods and running back Charles Scott sign with LSU.
Geralds signed with Wilson and Ole Miss. Now, Wilson is back on LSU’s staff at the same time as Geralds’ son – Deuce Geralds – is emerging as one of the nation’s most-coveted defensive line prospects in the 2026 cycle.
Wilson has kept a close relationship with Geralds since his time playing for the Rebels, and LSU has been recruiting his son since the Tigers turned the page to the 2026 class. LSU offered Geralds in January 2023, becoming one of the first SEC programs to jump into the mix.
With Geralds back in his hometown on Thursday, LSU is clearly making the Suwanee (Ga.) rising junior a top priority.
The competition includes Ole Miss (and more)
Given Daverin Geralds suited up for Ole Miss, his son has the Rebels firmly in the mix.
“I would go when I was little and watch my dad,” Geralds told On3’s OM Spirit. “I would wear a jersey and cheer him on.
As he took visits to campuses this offseason, Geralds said he remains “completely open”, adding that programs like LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Florida and Alabama have been in consistent pursuit.
With no On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine picks made yet, LSU joins Alabama and UNC as the trio of schools at the top of the On3 RPM thanks to a handful of visits made to all three campuses.
