Recruits react to LSU’s massive official visit weekend

LSU hosted a star-studded group of official visitors for the first recruiting weekend of June. Track the live updates from official visitors as reactions roll in from the weekend.

3-star DL Dilan Battle: “I really like LSU. It’s one of my top schools for a reason. The coaches and the staff did a great job making me feel at home and the players, too.”

4-star DL Brandon Brown: “What stood out was how family oriented everything was and going to eat breakfast at Coach Kelly’s house proved it even more. There’s nothing I don’t like about it.” -his mother, Nyesha.

4-star DL Zion Williams: “It was great. I liked everything. The LSU players are amazing people. The staff is awesome. The coaches are great men and the environment was like back home and I ain’t even from there.”

5-star OL Solomon Thomas: “I can say the mentality of the offensive line was next level. Them guys are really out there to be elite. The expectation of being an elite offensive lineman, the expectation is the Joe Moore Award and you can see they’re striving for it every time. Coach (Brad) Davis and the expectations that he has for his offensive line is different.”

5-star WR Kaliq Lockett: “The people at and around LSU make the place special. When you go to the state of Louisiana, LSU runs the state. It’s the culture.”

5-star WR Jaime Ffrench: “I loved it (LSU). Just the brotherhood, the tradition, the culture itself and the people in the building for sure.”

5-star DB Dorian Brew: “We like Corey Raymond,” Brew’s father Derrick said. “And just the opportunity he can play the first year, that was one of the things we liked.”

4-star EDGE Damien Shanklin: “It was amazing. I was able to sit down and chill with the staff and players and I also feel very bought in there. Literally talked to the whole staff this weekend because the bond is there and also enjoyed my time with the recruits. But everything was great about the visit. Nothing but positive energy.”
