PGA Championship Delayed, Scottie Scheffler Detained

PGA Championship Delayed, Scottie Scheffler Detained

It’s been a wild morning in the city of Louisville. An accident at the gates of Valhalla Golf Club created a scene at the PGA Championship.

A fatal accident occurred Friday morning around 5 am when a shuttle bus hit a pedestrian. The accident shut down Shelbyville Road and forced tournament officials to delay the start of the second round of the PGA Championship.

I am currently writing this from a phone on a shuttle bus in traffic on Shelbyville Road. Tournament play will begin no sooner than 8:30 am EST.

That became just a footnote in this story.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington was just outside of the gates at Valhalla when he saw the world’s No. 1 golfer drive a marked car onto the course. A police office jumped on the car and screamed at Scottie Scheffler to stop. Within seconds he was pulling Scheffler out of the car and putting him into handcuffs.

Yes, police threw the best golfer in the world in handcuffs because he was trying to get on the golf course.

Scheffler has since been released, but it’s impossible to accurately say just how un-freaking-believable this morning has been.
