4-star WR Daylyn Upshaw sets Florida Gators official visit
The visit schedule for 4-star receiver Daylyn Upshaw of Phenix City (Ala.) Central has continually evolved and changed, but one thing is consistent: It seems the Florida Gators will get an official. visit.
Upshaw told On3’s Chad Simmons that as of right now, these are his set officials:
-UCF (May 31-June 2)
-Miami (June 7-9)
-Florida (June 14-16)
Other officials could be added. Earlier this spring, Upshaw had told Gators Online he would officially visit the Gators on June 7. So things have shifted.
Upshaw seems to be a receiver the Florida staff thinks highly of. He’s listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds and is the No. 53 receiver in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings.
Auburn is the current On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite.
Upshaw visited the Gators earlier this year and communication with them is constant, he said at two months ago.
“I’m talking to everybody there,” Upshaw said. “Coach (Billy) Gonzales, the wide receivers coach, the assistant receivers coach, the GA wide receivers coach, Coach (Chad) Lucas — the whole coaching staff.”
What stood out with Florida?
“Definitely the coaches and the vibe,” Daylyn Upshaw said in February.
Florida currently has one receiver committed in the 2024 class — Josiah Abdullah of College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy. He will officially visit the Gators on June 14 with most of his family and appears to be solid with his verbal.
The Gators are targeting several receivers and it’s not clear exactly what the board looks like and who the true top targets are. Many of these prospects plan to officially visit the Gators this summer.
Additionally, the Florida Gators staff will make school visits in the coming weeks to further evaluate lots of these prospects, which will impact what the recruiting board looks like moving forward.
