Notes on every 2025 expected visitor for annual Ohio State spring game
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is in its final week of spring camp and it ends on Saturday with the annual spring game.
It’s the first nationally televised spring game in history and plenty of Buckeye Nation are expected to fill the Horseshoe. Also expected to fill Ohio Stadium are over three dozen recruits and their families.
It’s only Tuesday, but Lettermen Rolls out the early expected guest list for the Buckeyes’ spring game and some notes on each prospect.
Offense
— Five-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback and Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair of course will be on campus this weekend. No new notes to report about the Buckeyes’ future signal-caller. He is preparing for a Rivals camp and the Elite 11, both taking place this month.
— Four-star Cleveland Heights (Ohio) running back Marquise Davis is potentially visiting Ohio State for the spring game. He will definitely visit campus on Wednesday, however. He and new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn are starting at square one with their relationship as Locklyn never offered Davis while at Oregon. This will be a pivotal week for Ohio State with Davis.
— Three-star Woodbridge (Va) Freedom running back Jeffrey Overton will return to Ohio State on Saturday. The Buckeyes have always been a sort of silent player for him throughout his recruitment, mostly because former running backs coach Tony Alford had strong connections in Virginia. But Locklyn also has a relationship with Overton and the Buckeyes aren’t starting at square one here.
— Four-star Fulshear (Texas) Katy Jordan wide receiver Andrew Marsh returns to Ohio State for the first time since the 2022 Indiana game. He visited on a cold, snowy day, but the weather for the spring game is expected to be in the mid-60s and sunny. Ohio State has a few names ahead of Marsh on the board. Marsh has a few schools ahead of Ohio State on his list. This is an interesting visit to me.
— Four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle and Ohio State commit Carter Lowe returns to campus for the third week in a row. Two weeks ago he was here to help recruit top-ranked offensive tackle, David Sanders. Last weekend it was for priority target Avery Gach. This weekend? Have some fun as a commit. Oh yeah, and to help peer recruiting offensive tackle Nick Brooks.
Four-star Cedar Rapids (Iowa) John F. Kennedy offensive tackle Nick Brooks is expected to make his debut Ohio State visit over the weekend. He is the No. 218 overall prospect and the No. 19 offensive tackle in the On3 Industry Rankings. Brooks was previously committed to Iowa.
2025 Defense
— Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institue EDGE and Ohio State commit Zahir Mathis is expected back on campus for the first time since last summer when he camped. That will be a welcomed trip for him and his camp to reunite with defensive line coach Larry Johnson and head coach Ryan Day among others. Expected Mathis to have his official visit scheduled once he leaves.
— Three-star Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy defensive tackle Darrion Smith returns to Ohio State for the second time this month. He was on campus April 4. The Buckeyes have quite a shapeshifting defensive tackle board and Smith is a part of it.
— Medina (Ohio) Highland defensive tackle Carson Noonan is more of a preferred walk-on type for Ohio State. Could he be one of those late bloomers and really shine his senior season? Absolutely. Noonan is listed at 6-foot-3, 255 pounds in the database and with a little more weight, he could be a weakside defensive tackle for the Buckeyes.
— Four-star San Diego (Calif) J Serra Catholic linebacker Madden Faraimo won’t be at the spring game, but the day before. Ohio State has a few names above him on the board now, but this is a good chance for the Buckeyes to stay in the race on the chance he has to shoot up the board. Faraimo will be at Notre Dame on April 13.
— Four-star Galveston (Texas) Ball linebacker/safety Jonah Williams will finally make it to Ohio State after numerous reschedulings. Ohio State, as of now, is recruiting Williams as a safety but the linebacker potential is there. Oklahoma and Texas are in on Williams and the Buckeyes have some work to do to be a major contender.
— Five-star Plus+ Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback and Ohio State commit Devin Sanchez returns to Ohio State after visiting two weeks ago. He will largely be in the ear of fellow cornerback commit, Na’eem Offord.
Five-star Plus+ Birmingham (Ala) Parker cornerback and Ohio State commit Na’eem Offord makes his first visit of the spring to Ohio State. It will come after visiting Georgia, his dream school, however. Is there a cause for concern or is this just modern recruiting? A little from column A, a little from column B. There are talks of taking official visits elsewhere, but the Buckeyes remain confident in Offord’s verbal pledge.
Four-star Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy cornerback and Ohio State commit Blake Woodby is a guy we don’t talk enough about. He locked in his spot with the Buckeyes in October and hasn’t done anything except train and peer recruit.
