Newsstand: Michigan arrives in Minnesota to battle for Little Brown Jug
Tweets Of The Day
The Michigan Wolverines football team touched down in Minneapolis ahead of its game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday night at Huntington Bank Stadium. The Maize and Blue are 5-0 and ranked No. 2 in the nation, fresh off a big, 45-7 road win at Nebraska.
Michigan will go with its all-white uniform combination, after going white on maize last week at Nebraska.
hite pants have been the most common choice for Michigan on the road under ninth-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. In fact, the Maize and Blue sported white pants for every away game from 2015-20, with the exception of a 2017 loss at Penn State. In 2021, Harbaugh began giving more say to the players — captains and leadership council — but he makes the final uniform choice.
Since the 2021 campaign, Michigan has gone with white pants on the road just three times, and this will be the fourth. Blue and maize have been the most common pant color to this point, but all three colors will be tied up with four selections after Saturday night.
Here’s a look at Michigan’s uniform combinations for away tilts (or neutral-site games with white jerseys) since 2021:

Quote Of The Day
“I think we’ve been doing a really good job running to the ball. Our effort and angles have been a lot better this year than what they were last year,” the Michigan assistant told reporters. “We’re tackling better, we want to keep improving on tackling, but it’s a lot better. We’re disrupting the ball — I think we had two forced fumbles last week. I don’t think we had any the year before. We’re getting to the ball; we’re intercepting the ball. At every level, somebody is affecting the ball. Our communication has been unbelievable. If you take those fundamentals — we call them our pillars — you take those into every game and every situation, we have a great chance of being successful. We want to continue to rely on those, and when we add little nuances regardless of who we’re playing, the guys can still continue to run to the ball, have great angles, disrupt the ball, destroy blocks and have great communication.”
