Early visitor list for LSU-Arkansas

Early visitor list for LSU-Arkansas

LSU is set to host multiple recruits for the Arkansas game on Saturday. Here’s a look at some of the early names we could see in Baton Rouge.

*** LSU will host five-star Timpson (Tex.) athlete Terry Bussey for an official visit this weekend. The Tigers are hoping to flip the recruitment away from Texas A&M, which hosted him last weekend. The Aggies have long been considered the team to beat. Bussey didn’t get in as many visits this summer as he would’ve liked to with his recovery from knee surgery, which is why he extended his recruitment out a little longer. Alabama and LSU are both taking swings late here, but our intel at least going into the visit points to Texas A&M. Again, we’ll be tracking him closely as he heads toward a decision and his visit, one he really wanted to make, so LSU is at least hanging around here. He’d be a dynamic athlete to add to a terrific secondary haul.

*** 2024 Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater defensive back Cai Bates committed to LSU this summer and will be back on campus for the game. Bates picked the Tigers over Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Ohio State. He just nabbed two interceptions last week in his game against Orlando (Fla.) Jones. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Bates ranks as the No. 94 overall prospect, No. 11 cornerback in America and No. 14 prospect in Florida.

*** 2024 Humble (Tex.) Atascocita wide receiver Jelani Watkins committed to LSU this summer as well and The Bengal Tiger will see him in action Thursday against Kingwood. Watkins could be swinging through for the game as well. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Watkins is the No. 192 overall prospect in the country, No. 32 wide receiver in the nation and No. 33 prospect in Texas.

*** 2025 four-star Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County wide receiver Caleb Cunningham will be at LSU, he tweeted this week. Cunningham is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction MachineOle Miss is leading for Cunningham’s commitment at 32.3%. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Miami and Florida State are the schools he reported are standing out to him.

*** 2025 four-star quarterback George MacIntyre will be on campus as well. At 6-foot-5.5 pounds, MacIntyre is the No. 2 quarterback prospect and No. 13 overall recruit on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 class. Alabama, Tennessee, UCLA and others are in the mix for him right now.

*** There will be plenty of LSU commits on hand to recruit some targets for the Tigers this weekend as well. We’ll be updating the list as we get names confirmed.
