2025 On3 Industry Ranking four-star Taz Williams talks Texas trip, visits
If there’s a prospect who has been to Austin more in the 2025 cycle, Taz Williams wants to know.
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound On3 Industry Ranking four-star receiver was in Austin on Saturday for the Texas-Wyoming bash and to see the Longhorns on the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
“It was lit,” Williams told Inside Texas. “The game was great, especially the 4th quarter when they scored three times in five minutes. And going into the fourth, I noticed they had lights with the Longhorn and the and the Hook’Em sign. Loved when (Xavier Worthy) scored on the wide receiver screen in the last quarter.”
The Red Oak (Texas) product holds 44 offers including Texas, USC, LSU, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama. And the message from Steve Sarkisian and Chris Jackson remains the same.
“They said ‘keep making plays and working hard, and we would love for you to stay home and be a Longhorn’” Williams said.
He’ll hit the road again in two weeks, taking an unofficial visit to Boulder for the USC-Colorado game on September 30th.
With Williams, he’s still making plays this year after a solid sophomore season. Williams tallied 582 yards receiving and five touchdowns in 2022. So far, he’s hauled in 20 catches for 282 yards and three scores during the 2023 season.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Williams ranks as the No. 269 overall prospect in the country, No. 40 wide receiver in the nation and No. 48 overall prospect in Texas.
On3 ranks Williams as the No. 244 overall prospect, the No. 33 wide receiver, and the No. 41 player in the state of Texas in the 2025 class.
