2026 4-star DL James Carrington logs good experience at Georgia
Rabun Gap (Ga.) Rabun-Gap Nacoochee 2026 four-star defensive lineman James ‘Tank’ Carrington has undergone a lot of changes recently.
He’s made a change in schools. Carrington, the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings has moved to the Georgia and North Carolina state line to attend Rabun-Gap Nacochee after a year and a few games at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.
One thing that has remained the same as of late, is Carrington’s admiration for his new in-state school, Georgia.
Carrington made his way to Athens for his first gameday visit to Georgia on Saturday as Georgia defeated Ball State.
Carrington made his way to Athens back in March during spring practice and left with an offer.
This time around, Georgia’s gameday atmosphere had a chance to make a solid first impression on the four-star defensive lineman.
“What stood out to me was the atmosphere,” Carrington said. “All the fans cheering and chanting it was a cool experience.”
Carrington got the chance to see Athens come to life on a gameday for the first time. That too was a notable experience.
“I think it was an exciting and nice experience,” Carrington said. “The city was nice even though we didn’t get to see much at the time.”
Carrington is well aware of Georgia’s history along the defensive line. He took note of that in a previous interview last month.
“They have a pretty good history with their defensive line, they put a lot of people in the league,” Carrington said. “I feel like I could learn a lot from this school and the coaching staff that is there.”
Georgia is high on James Carrington’s board
Carrington felt Saturday’s experience was a good one. He’d already had Georgia high on his board. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Bulldogs as Carrington’s leader after Saturday’s visit.
Georgia now has a 41.9 percent chance of landing the young four-star defensive lineman according to RPM.
Saturday only enhanced what was already there for Carrington.
“Well, I’ve already had good feelings about Georgia but the game just increased that,” Carrington said. “I wish I’m able to talk to the coaches more in the coming years.”
Carrington has a NIL Valuation of 78K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
