Jordan Ross: Live commitment decision from nation’s No. 4 EDGE
The big day is finally here for Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills four-star EDGE Jordan Ross, who will make his commitment Monday night at 7 p.m. CT live on On3’s YouTube channel.
The No. 34 overall prospect and No. 4 EDGE in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking will decide between Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. Ross took official visits to Florida, Tennessee and Texas during the month of June. And the Crimson Tide have also hung around his recruitment as the in-state school.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Volunteers hold a slight lead heading into his announcement with a 30.1 percent chance of landing him.

Ross broke down his top schools earlier this month
Last week, Jordan Ross announced his commitment date with On3’s Hayes Fawcett and quickly broke down each of his top four schools.
Tennessee: To see them beat Alabama personally was one of the best game experiences I’ve had. The staff make sure you are well educated of their program too.
Florida: Coach Napier is a staple for Florida, he made it feel like home. He was very welcoming to everyone and the players felt like brothers.
Alabama: By me growing up here, the school has been a big influence in my life. My family are huge fans, my sister attended there, and they do have a good program.
Texas: It was a great experience that allowed me to see different aspects of the game and see how the coaches are able to develop me.
Scouting Summary
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about him as a prospect:
“Edge defender who plays with his hand in the dirt and in a 2-point stance with a prototypical body type and motor that allows him to harass offenses all game long. Measures in at 6-foot-4.5, 215 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Ran an impressive 4.68 electronically-timed 40-yard dash paired with a 30-inch vertical and a 4.49 short shuttle during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Strong and active hands at the point of attack.
… Flashes raw power when defending against the run while shedding blocks. Excellent first step and get off. Tremendous closing speed in the open field, gains on ball carriers in a hurry. Will need to develop a wide array of pass rush moves to reach his ceiling at the next level but should come with collegiate coaching. Upside is through the roof and has his best ball ahead of him. On the younger end of the spectrum for the 2o24 recruiting cycle.”
