5-star CB Na’eem Offord talks weekend Miami Hurricanes visit: “I liked everything that I saw out there, and they dominated”
For the first time, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker five-star 2025 cornerback Na’eem Offord made his way down south for an unofficial visit with the Miami Hurricanes, and the blue-chip recruit was impressed with all that he saw.
After a dominant performance against the Aggies following a 48-33 win, Miami looks to be trending in the right direction for the elite defender, who is already eyeing a return visit to Coral Gables.
“I liked everything that I saw out there, and they dominated,” Offord told CaneSport. ‘’I kind of had a feeling and already knew what was going to go on because I saw a lot of energy when they first came out. I’m going to come back for sure.”
Ahead of his visit to Miami, Offord, who is the No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 1 cornerback in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, said he wanted to see the environment and just the overall energy in Miami during his visit.
After taking it all in, Offord was thoroughly impressed with what he saw from the Hurricanes and their fans on Saturday evening.
“As I was looking at the crowd, I saw they were matching Miami’s energy,” Offord said. “The crowd was there, the players were there, and they had momentum the whole game.”
Since earning an offer from the Hurricanes in December 2022, Offord has continued to hear from the program and head coach Mario Cristobal, who has led the recruitment efforts alongside the entire staff. Saturday’s visit helped the two sides grow closer after spending time together before and after the win against the Aggies.
“It’s a really good relationship,” Offord said. “Me and coach Cristobal have a good little connection. He tells me how he needs me and how I’ll be on the other island when I get here. It makes me feel good.”
At the moment, Offord is working towards narrowing his list of over 30 offers down to a handful of schools.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Alabama is the current favorite to land Offord’s commitment with a 25.9 % chance, followed by Auburn (15.4%) and Miami (13.2%).
“I don’t really have a top list, but it’s Miami at the end of the day,” Offord said when asked where Miami ranked among some of his top programs. “I really like them.”
When making his final decision, Offord says whichever program he believes can not only develop him into a great player but also a better man will be who he eventually pledge to.
“Just being a better man,” Offord explained.
CaneSport’s take
Getting Offord on campus was huge for Miami as the five-star prospect begins to close out and focus on his top schools. Miami made a great first impression on Offord and will likely be listed in his top schools when he realizes his final group of programs.
