4-star RB Braylen Russell talks weekend official visit to Tennessee

Benton (Ark.) four-star running back Braylen Russell concluded a month-long slate of official visits with a trip to Tennessee this weekend. Following his multi-day stay with the Vols, he discussed the time spent on Rocky Top with Volquest.

“It was a really good weekend up here,” Russell said of the visit. “I enjoyed getting to be around everyone and spending time with everybody. It was good to be around Nico, Squirrel White and some others.”

Russell enjoyed spending time around Jerry Mack and the Tennessee running back room as well.

“It was great being around them again,” Russell said of this. “It is always a good time being around them and catching up with them. They are great people and great coaches. I enjoyed being out on the lake and just having a good time.”

Russell was also able to connect with current Tennessee running back commitment Peyton Lewis during the weekend as well.

“Peyton was fun to be around this weekend,” Russell said of this. “We had good conversation, and we talked about future plans and what it could be like if we teamed up here. It was all good.

Russell will announce his decision on his birthday, July 14th, and Tennessee will certainly have a hat on the table

“They are definitely top three, definitely,” Russell said of where the Vols stand following the visit.

Russell is rated as the No.276 overall prospect and No.22 running back in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Ratings. On3 rates Russell as the No.298 overall recruit and No.23 running back in the class.
