2027 RB Brayden Stoker Reacts to Kentucky Offer: ‘I Was Freaking Out’

Brayden Stoker likes a lot about Kentucky’s football program. He likes the players they’ve sent to the NFL, their jerseys, the colors, coaches, and more.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound running back from Gordon Lee (Chickamauga, GA) received a call from Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford during his second-period class on Thursday. During that call, Stoker learned he had picked up an offer from Kentucky.

“I was freaking out because it was my first Power Five offer,” Stoker told KSR+. “It was really cool.”

Stoker, who plays running back and wide receiver at the high school level, is being recruited by Kentucky as a running back. He believes he could make an impact there.

“I think I could compete with other guys,” he said. “I know I’m really young right now, but I could really compete, do well, work hard, and fit in well.”

Being In the class of 2027, Brayden Stoker has watched as a lot of his friends have picked up offers from Power Five programs. He’s been waiting for his chance.

“I was trying to get my name out there,” he said. “I did.”

In addition to Kentucky, Stoker has also received interest from Ole Miss and Duke. He’ll visit Ole Miss on Saturday, May 4.

“I just want to succeed and go really far in life,” Stoker said. “I want to get a good education as well.”

2027 wide receiver and running back Brayden Stoker of Gordon Lee (GA) finished the 2023 season with 113 carries for 733 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 28 receptions for 337 yards and one touchdown.

“I love hitting holes. I see that pretty easily and get out loose with my speed. We played 3A last year,” he said. “We’re a really small school, so we don’t have that much talent. We have a really good group this year and I think we’ll go really far. We were just really young.”

Stoker wants to improve his abilities as a wide receiver. That starts with his footwork. As far as scheme, Stoker likes playing in a spread offense.

“I like playing in the backfield and running the jets,” he said. “I like being one-on-one with a guy and I can really get open because of my speed. We’re running a spread right now and that’s probably the best offense I’ve ever run.”
