2027 IOL Peyton Miller picks up first offer from Nebraska following visit

Nebraska hosted around 60 visitors this past weekend and a large chunk of that group were underclassmen without an offer. Peyton Miller from Anna (Texas) was one of that subset. He’s a freshman playing varsity football in Texas, but after the game on Saturday he picked up an offer from Nebraska who saw enough from his first few games to make an offer.

“I’m very excited and grateful for the offer from Nebraska,” Miller said. “This is my first offer and the beginning of my recruiting journey.”

This weekend was Miller’s first time seeing Nebraska. He had some expectations for the weekend and he came away feeling like he had a great visit and weekend in Lincoln.

“I thought that Nebraska would have an amazing environment and it would be a great overall trip. After the trip, I realized how great the environment and coaches were.

“I talked to a lot of the Nebraska coaches, and Coach Raiola is an amazing coach. The overall experience was great.”

Miller was very impressed with the game environment at Nebraska. There was a rain delay during the game, and Miller saw the fans in their seats leading up to the delay and back in their seats to finish up the game.

“I loved the energy and commitment of the fans,” Miller said. “The environment was electric and made the game very enjoyable.”

Miller’s current height and weight might indicate that he will be playing inside. He knows that if he continues to grow he might move to tackle, but he says that right now he sees himself at center or guard.

“Since I am only 14 years old, I think my growth is to be determined as of right now. Given my current size, I can see myself as a guard or center. I was 6-foot-3 and 273-pounds on the visit.

There might be a snowball effect for Miller because of the Nebraska offer. He thinks that it’s possible more offers and visit opportunities will come up now that he has his first D1 offer.

“I don’t have anything planned at the moment, but this will possibly trigger some potential visits. At some point, I would love to get back to Nebraska.”
