2025 4-star WR CJ Wiley on Georgia: ‘Georgia is on my radar’

2025 4-star WR CJ Wiley on Georgia: ‘Georgia is on my radar’

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton 2025 four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley made his way to Athens on Saturday for Georgia’s season opener.

He left with Georgia high on his board still. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Georgia as Wiley’s favorite. The Bulldogs currently have a 37 percent chance of landing the No. 191 overall prospect in the On3 rankings for the class of 2025.

Wiley wouldn’t go as far as making Georgia his clear favorite at the moment. Wiley is very much in evaluation mode in his recruitment. But the Bulldogs have the attention of the four-star pass catcher from Alpharetta.

“Georgia is on my radar,” Wiley said.

Multiple facets of Georgia stand out to CJ Wiley

Wiley took note of Georgia’s play on the field on Saturday night. He acknowledged the slow start. It was Georgia’s slow start that made their second-half surge a point of impression on the 6-foot-4, 190-pound wideout.

Wiley felt Georgia’s staff provided another example of their ability to adjust and move the needle to take things up a level when need be.

“What stood out to me was they didn’t really have a good first half but came back in the second and put on a show,” Wiley said. “It caught my attention because they got together as a team at halftime and fixed the pieces they were missing.”

Georgia’s atmosphere was a plus as well. The Bulldogs had the rare opportunity to host a night game on Saturday which meant lighting up Sanford. That experience is one Wiley is high on. Wiley was also impressed by the amount of red surrounding Dooley Field on Saturday. The Bulldogs’ opener drew another 92K plus as the back-to-back national champions opened their title defense.

“It was a good night game it was loud and red everywhere,” Wiley said.

Georgia’s coaching staff has been in contact with Wiley a lot as of late. They added another chapter to their relationship on Saturday. Wiley was able to briefly speak with Georgia wide receiver coach Bryan McClendon on Saturday.

The message was short.

“I talked to coach B-Mac (McClendon) he said he it was good to see me,” Wiley recalled.

2023 season prediction

Wiley feels Georgia is in a good spot once again to make a run at the national championship. The Bulldogs entered 2023 after back-to-back national championships.

“Georgia should have a good chance to go to the championship again this year,” Wiley said.
