DeAndre Hopkins<\/a><\/strong> provided some insight on when he might retire from the NFL<\/a>. But it didn\u2019t exactly come with a timeline.<\/p>\n

The star wide receiver took to Twitter recently, saying he plans to play until he doesn\u2019t view himself as a 1,000-yard receiver. And that means he could be sticking around the league for several more years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll retire from football when I\u2019m not a 1k-yard receiver,\u201d Hopkins said in a tweet<\/a>, which has since been deleted. \u201cWith that said, I was on pace for 1,400 yards last year\u2014one significant injury in 11 years. I might be playing till I\u2019m 37 the way I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hopkins enters the 2023 season at 31 years old. So, he could stick around for another seven seasons, if he feels strong enough to continue playing.<\/p>\n

Last season, Hopkins appeared in nine games for the Arizona Cardinals, totaling 64 catches for 717 yards and three touchdowns. He currently remains a free agent.<\/p>\n

One of the few certainties in the NFL has been Hopkins\u2019 status as a 1,000-yard receiver over the course of his career. He\u2019s hit that mark six times in his career and totaled more than 800 yards in two other seasons.<\/p>\n

Hopkins spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Houston Texans (2013-19). He\u2019s played with the Cardinals the past three years. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s been one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL for a decade. Without question, he\u2019ll be a major asset to whatever team he joins this offseason.<\/p>\n

DeAndre Hopkins makes error while in New England<\/h2>\n

Is Hopkins heading to New England for the 2023 season? It seems like the likely scenario, but the five-time Pro Bowl receiver still hasn\u2019t made a final decision.<\/p>\n

But Hopkins was in Boston again this week \u2026 and made a pretty big error in judgment<\/a> while in the area. It shouldn\u2019t impact his free agency, though.<\/p>\n

Hopkins took to the new social media app Threads to say that he ordered the clam chowder. But there was a major problem with his choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI accidentally ate pork for the 1st time in 8 years because I ordered clam chowder in Boston,\u201d Hopkins posted on Threads. \u201cSomebody should\u2019ve told me it\u2019s bacon chowder.\u201d<\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t sound like a fun experience. But it\u2019s probably better to learn that lesson now than in the middle of the season, if he does end up signing with the Patriots, right?<\/a><\/p>\n
