Clint Bowyer has some extra time on his hands now that NBC Sports has taken over for FOX for the remainder of the NASCAR season.<\/p>\n

Evidently, that\u2019s led him to pick up pyrotechnics as a hobby. Maybe it was just for the Fourth on July, but that would be a waste of his obvious talent.<\/p>\n

Check out the message Bowyer shared to Twitter on Independence Day, where he showed the world his skills at putting on an intense fireworks display, better than most towns do this time of the year.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s certainly as impressive of a display as you\u2019re going to see. As Bowyer said, \u2018Not bad for a few rednecks,\u2019 not bad at all Clint. <\/p>\n

If it doesn\u2019t work out at FOX with Kevin Harvick joining the booth next season, at least Clint Bowyer has an easy backup plan. Somewhere in the country, Bowyer\u2019s firework display would be able to sell a few tickets. Heck, the WWE always needs new ideas for their entrances, maybe Bowyer could help with that.<\/p>\n

Until then, we\u2019ll be happy to hear him in the booth, and elated to see he still has all his fingers are lighting those babies up.<\/p>\n

Denny Hamlin was in awe of Shane van Gisbergen\u2019s talent during Grant Park 220<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, while many were in awe of Clint Bowyer\u2019s firework display, Denny Hamlin couldn\u2019t help but be in awe of Shane van Gisbergen after his victory in Sunday\u2019s Grant Park 220 Chicago Street Race.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Van Gisbergen, the Supercars Championship driver who became the first driver to win his NASCAR Cup Series debut since Johnny Rutherford in the second qualifying race at Daytona in 1963, conquered the 12-turn, 2.2-mile street course to\u00a0pick up the win<\/a>. Hamlin heaped praise on van Gisbergen upon learning that the New Zealand native is used to racing right-hand-drive cars and had to adjust to being on the left side.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThat, to me, blows my mind,\u201d Hamlin said on his \u201cActions Detrimental<\/a>\u201d podcast Monday, via\u00a0Connor O\u2019Brien of\u00a0<\/a>V8 Sleuth<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI guess I could do it, but I probably wouldn\u2019t be very efficient shifting with the other hand. We knew he was really good, but this is blowing my mind as we talk about it. You know what? Crown him. Greatest f\u2014\u2014 athlete in the history of sports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, he went from one side of the car to the other. I did it when I went to Japan for Toyota and I ran out in a GT3 car. It took me forever to get comfortable driving from the other side of the car. Holy cow. Everywhere you turn it\u2019s pretty amazing what he did.\u201d<\/p>\n
