According to Florida basketball commit Isaiah Brown<\/a><\/strong>, some people compare his game to that of former San Antonio Spurs star guard Manu Gin\u00f3bili<\/a><\/strong>. But Brown thinks he plays more like a current NBA standout.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have people tell me Gin\u00f3bili, because I\u2019m a lefty and I can get to the basket, but I want to say I\u2019m like (Celtics\u00a0 standout) Jaylen Brown<\/a><\/strong>,\u201d Isaiah Brown said. \u201cI like his explosiveness around the rim and he hits open shots on the perimeter. And I feel like my ability to drive and attack the rim resembles his \u2014 and his ability to hit shots on the perimeter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown, listed at 6-foot-4 and 192 pounds, is a rising senior at Orlando Christian Prep (Fla.). He committed to the Gators over FAU in May. Georgia and Missouri also were heavily involved, along with Ohio, where his older brother plays.<\/p>\n

Brown, who holds a 3.5 GPA, plans to sign with Todd Golden\u2019s<\/strong> Gators in November. His official visit will take place this fall.<\/p>\n

Isaiah Brown<\/a><\/strong> had a strong junior season <\/h2>\n

Brown is the No. 133 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He averaged 18.6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists a game last season.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne was the coaching staff,\u201d he said. \u201cAll of them were very friendly, welcoming and very interested in my game. They really wanted me in their program. Two, is the fact they see me playing an important role my freshman year coming in and doing things on the floor and off the court. Being a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Brown is listed as a shooting guard, he could be used at multiple spots in college.<\/p>\n

\u201c(The Gators) said I\u2019d have a chance to play the one, two and three,\u201d Brown said. \u201cBring the ball up, play off the ball and play off screens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown said at this stage, his defense probably is stronger than his offense. He has an impressive 6-feet, 10-inch wing span. And he\u2019s known for his intensity. When asked what his best on-court trait is, Brown replied, \u201cI\u2019d say my energy on the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Between now and his arrival at Florida next summer, Brown plans to address a few areas of his game.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically, my ball handling,\u201d Brown said. \u201cAnd also getting a little bit of consistency with my jump shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Already, he\u2019s making strides, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe played at least 40 (AAU games),\u201d he said. \u201cI averaged about 15 points, 5 or 6 rebounds, 5 assists. I did fairly good. My game took a step. I was hitting more shots, getting to the basket, making the right reads.\u201d<\/p>\n
