Kevin Oatis<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 the No. 4 player in Mississippi for the 2025 class \u2014 named a leader in his recruitment two weeks ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTexas A&M is my top school right now,\u201d Oatis told On3\u2019s Sam Spiegelman<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cThat\u2019s a family-oriented school. I\u2019m big on family. I\u2019m a family man, and every time I come down there I feel like I\u2019m at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

July 4th has arrived, and the Aggies are still out in front for Oatis \u2014 ranked by the On3 Industry Ranking as a four-star and the nation\u2019s No. 104 overall player. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He\u2019s the No. 11 defensive lineman.<\/p>\n

\u201cA&M is still my top school,\u201d Oatis confirmed to the Ole Miss Spirit Monday night. \u201c(Texas A&M), LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Michigan are pushing for me hard right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

4-star DL Kevin Oatis (Chad Simmons, On3)<\/p>\n

Oatis has been on a number of visits the last few months.\u00a0<\/h2>\n

He checked out Ole Miss for a spring scrimmage in April \u2014 one of the many treks to Oxford he\u2019s made since his recruitment really started heating up. He\u2019s seen Florida, too. He\u2019s camped at LSU. He\u2019ll go back to LSU this month, and Oatis has scheduled trips to Florida State and Texas A&M.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLSU was my favorite school,\u201d growing up, Oatis said, in a previous interview with On3.<\/p>\n

But the Rebels are still right in the thick of things.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Actually, Ole Miss, despite all the recent surges from competing schools, continues to hold as the On3 RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine) favorite to land him. The Rebels are pulling in 49.5 percent of expert predictions. LSU (15.4 percent) is second, followed by Texas A&M (13.2 percent).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Basically, there\u2019s a long ways to go yet. Many twists and turns to come. This is recruiting, after all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At least Oatis knows one thing, for sure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll make my decision the start of my senior year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

And Ole Miss isn\u2019t going away.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been talking to the coaches,\u201d Oatis said. \u201cI haven\u2019t been able to go lately because of other things I have had planned, but I want to come back ASAP.\u201d<\/p>\n
