{"id":9465,"date":"2023-07-03T13:23:07","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T18:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/?p=9465"},"modified":"2023-07-03T13:23:07","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T18:23:07","slug":"georgia-offer-an-honor-for-top-100-wr-naeshaun-montgomery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.wztzfm.com\/wp\/georgia-offer-an-honor-for-top-100-wr-naeshaun-montgomery\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia offer \u2018an honor\u2019 for top 100 WR Naeshaun Montgomery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the nation\u2019s No. 73 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking for the Class of 2025, wide receiver <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/db\/naeshaun-montgomery-153438\/\">Naeshaun Montgomery<\/a><\/strong> has already collected an impressive list of offers.<\/p>\n<p>Oregon, Texas A&amp;M, LSU, and Miami are among those already in the race for the four-star pass catcher, and the Georgia Bulldogs recently entered in, as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoach [Bryan] McClendon has been in contact with my head coach,\u201d Montgomery said. \u201cThey got me on the phone and he told me he would love for me to be a part of the program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McClendon added a personal touch while delivering the message, as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told me I was a younger him,\u201d Montgomery said.<\/p>\n<p>That comment stuck with the rising junior in a big way, as did the opportunity to potentially play in Athens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(To call it an) honor would be an understatement,\u201d Montgomery said.<\/p>\n<p>And while McClendon may be leading the charge from the staff side of things, there\u2019s a Georgia commit who\u2019s also offering up his support of bringing the 6-foot-3 wideout to the Classic City, as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m good friends with Ellis Robinson,\u201d Montgomery said. \u201cWe play on (7-on-7 team) Raw Miami together. All he does is tell me how amazing UGA is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery hasn\u2019t had a chance to see the Bulldogs in person yet, but he\u2019s looking to change that this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m definitely trying to go to a few games,\u201d he said. \u201cI am looking to see how I would be a great fit for the program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While there\u2019s more for him to learn about the Dawgs in person, Montgomery is already quite well-versed in one aspect of their offerings<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I think Georgia, I think National Championships,\u201d Montgomery said.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s of great appeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s something I definitely want to achieve,\u201d Montgomery said.<\/p>\n<p>Naeshaun Montgomery hails from West Palm Beach Florida\u2019s Cardinal Newman High School.<\/p>\n<h2>Naeshaun Montgomery impressed On3 this summer<\/h2>\n<p><em>\u201cNaeshaun Montgomery was Julian Sayin\u2018s preferred target on Sunday at the OT7 Finals. The West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman product caught four touchdown passes during knockout play. Montgomery showed the ability to make plays in a variety of ways. His first score came on a deep ball from Sayin, while showing the ability to separate vertically. Montgomery caught a game-winning touchdown on a slant route and showed strong route-running ability on two more touchdowns in the red zone. The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder also flashed natural ball skills.
