The Alabama Crimson Tide are a finalist for one of the top cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting cycle.<\/p>\n
Tampa (Fla.) Catholic product Jameer Grimsley<\/a><\/strong>, who is the No. 11 cornerback in the 2024 On300<\/a>, is set to announce his college decision on Saturday. Florida got him on campus for a one-day unofficial visit on June 20, then Michigan received the final official visit from Grimsley that next weekend.<\/p>\n With his decision less than 12 hours away, one school is trending for the 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback: Alabama.<\/p>\n Per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine<\/strong><\/a>, the Crimson Tide have a 78.2 percent chance of landing Grimsley. That number rose on the RPM after Michigan recruiting expert EJ Holland<\/a> placed a pick in Bama\u2019s favor with 60 percent confidence.<\/p>\n As for why Alabama has remained a contender until the very end, Grimsley told BamaOnLine<\/strong> the following a couple of weeks ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cBama is Bama,\u201d Grimsley said. \u201cThe history behind it, you cannot not consider Bama, especially with everything they\u2019ve been doing the past 10-20 years. They\u2019ve just been putting dudes in the league as first-round picks\u2026 those dudes, they all want to go to the NFL. That\u2019s what their plan is. You\u2019re surrounded by like-minded individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n Looking at his ranking, On3 is higher on Grimsley than any other recruiting rankings service. On3 has Grimsley as the No. 77 overall player in his class, as well as the No. 11 cornerback and the No. 14 overall player in Florida.
