In two years at Oklahoma<\/a><\/strong>, Jordy Bahl<\/a><\/strong> assembled a career\u2019s worth of accomplishments, winning a pair of national titles among other accolades. Under the tutelage of Sooners head coach Patty Gasso<\/strong>, Bahl learned a lot, too.<\/p>\n

Now at Nebraska<\/a><\/strong> to finish out her college career after a surprise transfer, Bahl reflected on what she learned from Gasso. And it goes beyond succeeding at softball.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously coach Gasso is an amazing coach,\u201d Bahl said<\/a>. \u201cAnd I learned a lot from her and just from playing with the girls on that team. Just about the game in general, and a lot about just confidence and just believing that you can. And so I think just being around them for two years and learning from them as people and as coaches and players was \u2014 it had a big effect on my maturity as a person and just in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Bahl\u2019s time at Oklahoma, the Sooners were utterly dominant. They won a pair of national titles and in 2023 lost just one game all season. They became the first team to three-peat as national champions since UCLA<\/a><\/strong> in the late 1980s and early 1990s. And they set an NCAA record for consecutive wins in a season.<\/p>\n

Bringing some piece and knowledge of that success to Nebraska \u2014\u00a0her hometown team \u2014\u00a0is part of what Bahl hopes to do going forward. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to be a confident presence, I guess,\u201d Bahl said. \u201cAnd like I said, not overstep anything but just be here to help any way I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bahl explained her tattoo of the state of Nebraska, desire to represent where she\u2019s from<\/h2>\n

While Bahl became well-known due to her prowess on the field for the Sooners, her desire to put on for her home state<\/a><\/strong> grew and grew with each aching minute. Heck, she even showed her adulation with an outline of Nebraska that she got tattooed on her arm.<\/p>\n

Now, she\u2019s back home after deciding to transfer back home to play for the Cornhuskers\u00a0earlier this offseason. Speaking with the media, Bahl explained the meaning behind her tattoo, and why the desire to represent the state burned so brightly within her.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I actually got the tattoo my freshman year at school,\u201d\u00a0explained Bahl<\/a>. \u201cLike I said, I was still homesick, even then. But it was always important to me, to represent Nebraska. Even being away. I\u2019ve always made it a point to be proud of being a Nebraskan. I think part of being away for two years was good, because if anything, just my love for this place, and just the pride in representing it grew.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut yeah, I got it my freshman year. We were, it was during the spring season, so we had two days going on during spring break and I went in-between our morning and afternoon practice and just got it. So yeah, kind of funny.\u201d<\/p>\n
