What stands out about the Florida Gators to Ryan Jones<\/a><\/strong>, the 4-star 2024 power-forward from The Rock School in Gainesville, Fla.?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a\u00a0family when you get there \u2014 a positive vibe,\u201d Jones said. \u201cThey\u2019re like a family. Close together. They have fun with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones, listed at 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds, is a high-level Florida target. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s the No. 9 power-forward and No. 69 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.<\/p>\n

Jones, a native of Indiana, unofficially visited Todd Golden\u2019s<\/strong> Florida program earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was good,\u201d Jones said. \u201cEvery time I go, I feel more comfortable since the new coaching staff came there. It was just all around great. They treated me like I\u2019m already on the team. Great coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Jones, he\u2019s getting \u201cpretty deep\u201d into his recruitment. He plans to trim things down a bit \u201cpossibly in the beginning of the fall.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to commit at least by the early signing period, which is in November.\u201d<\/p>\n

He has set four official visits and Florida will get one of them. That visit will take place Sept. 16.<\/p>\n

Additional officials are scheduled for Xavier (Aug. 3), Virginia Tech (Sept. 2) and LSU (Sept. 22) .<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone else can still get an official, these are just the ones I already have locked in\u201d Jones told Gators Online.<\/p>\n

Ryan Jones also is solid in the classroom<\/h2>\n

Jones, who carries a 3.9 GPA, hopes to study graphic design in college. When asked what his main factors will be when picking a school, this is how he replied:\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI have three,\u201d Jones said. \u201cThe first one, a coaching staff or someone on the coaching staff who has a great relationship with God. So while I\u2019m there my faith can continue to grow. Or a person\u00a0who I can go to them with anything and they\u2019ll be there. My second, there\u2019s no conflict with the team. Nothing from the past that\u2019s hurting them in the present. You get good vibes, positive vibes. Everybody is cool with each other. And the last one, education wise, if it meets my standards and what I want to accomplish outside of basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones said his primary Florida recruiter is Carlin Hartman.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a good dude,\u201d Jones said. \u201cHis son plays on my high school team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
