Former TCU<\/strong><\/a> wide receiver Savion Williams<\/a><\/strong> was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the No. 87 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. His pro career now begins.<\/p>\n

Williams spent five seasons with the Horned Frogs and started getting a bigger role in Year 3. This past season, Williams finished with 60 catches for 611 yards, six touchdowns and 10.2 yards per carry.<\/p>\n

Over the course of his career, Williams had 137 catches for 1,655 yards, 14 touchdowns and 12.1 yards per catch. He continually had more production each season at TCU.<\/p>\n

As a member of the Class of 2020, Williams was a three-star recruit out of Marshall (Texas) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 75 overall prospect in the state, the No. 98 wide receiver in the class and the No. 573 overall prospect in the class.<\/p>\n

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Savion Williams<\/h2>\n

NFL.com\u2019s Lance Zierlein provided his evaluation of Williams and what he can become as a pro. His pro comparison is Cordarrelle Patterson<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDevelopmental wideout who offers an alluring blend of physical gifts and untapped potential,\u201d Zierlein wrote in his evaluation of Williams<\/a>. \u201cWilliams is big, strong and fast but very raw as a route-runner and is unreliable with his hands. His production is uneven as a traditional wideout, but he adds a dynamic kick to the offense as a gadget runner and as a catch-and-run option underneath. He excels on power sweeps and is willful enough for consideration on short-yardage and goal-line carries on direct snaps. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe ball skills can be hit-or-miss. but there are flashes to work with on tape. The difference between \u201csiren song\u201d or \u201cpot of gold\u201d could rest in Williams\u2019 technical development and the creativity of his play-caller.<\/p>\n
