In the aftermath of a shooting on campus Thursday that left two dead, six injured and a community shaken, Florida State University will hold a vigil for the victims today at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

It is set to take place on Langford Green in front of the Unconquered Statue at Doak Campbell Stadium.<\/p>\n

FSU also is providing counseling and victim\u2019s advocate services at the Askew Student Life Center from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. today. <\/p>\n

All classes and athletics events were canceled on Thursday through the weekend. Nearby Florida A&M University also canceled classes on Friday in a showing of support for Florida State.<\/p>\n

With the Seminoles\u2019 home baseball series against Virginia being postponed, members of the Florida State athletics department staff gathered Thursday evening to provide hundreds of free hamburgers and hot dogs to students on campus.<\/p>\n

Members of the Florida State athletic department, including AD Michael Alford, are out at Dick Howser Stadium cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs for students.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve cooked 600 hot dogs, and 500 burgers for these students.<\/p>\n

According to Florida State\u2019s web site, the university is not asking for donations at this time. But if any individuals or organizations are looking to provide resources, they are asked to contact studentaffairs@fsu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the wake of Thursday\u2019s tragedy, messages of support have come from all corners of the athletics world and university community.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with everyone at Florida State University, the Tallahassee community, and all those affected by today\u2019s tragic event,\u201d said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips. \u201cThe entire ACC family stands in support of Florida State, and our hearts will remain with all of those impacted.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI join everyone at the University of Florida in sending our most caring thoughts and deepest sympathies to the Florida State University family,\u201d UF interim President Kent Fuchs posted on social media. \u201cOur hearts go out to everyone who has been affected by the shootings and their loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
